I installed the latest MediaPortal 0.2 RC3, but I do not know how to do the CVS. I installed the CVS application, but that is as far as I got. I deleted the files like you said. I started media portal and it will not detect my tuner card now. So now I do not have any tv.
download the most recent one for RC3 and extract the content of the downloaded rar into your /team mediaportal/mediaportal/ directory and replace everything. then execute the "start.bat" in your mp directory und you just updated to the newest CVS. as far as i'm concerned there is no need for the CVS application (not aware what this is in fact )
of course i don't know if this solves your problem though
Alright, I have installed the latest 2.00 RC3, deleted the capture card files like you said and then pasted the latest CVS over the files. I ran the setup and tried to install my tuner card. It says that a Graph cannot be drawn for the tuner card although it does show up.
Here is the mediaportal log http://mp.pastebin.com/632054
and here is the recorder log http://mp.pastebin.com/632056
and here is the error log http://mp.pastebin.com/632057
Thats all the logs that there is. Now what do I do?
I have already installed the codec and registered it previously as you suggested, but I did it again like you have said and now it will detect my card and I can setup my card in setup, but when I startup mediaportal and click on tv, I only get a black screen. The tv dot is not highlighted. I click on start tv and it will not start. Here is my new log.
4/2/2006 7:00:05 AM filter videncoder='ATI Media Center Video Encoder' check:False
4/2/2006 7:00:05 AM filter audencoder='ATI Media Center Audio Encoder' check:False
I do not know how to read the log so I am only making a guess. Also I took a look at my Device Manager and normaly when I install the ATI drivers there is a video, audio, etc about four to five devices for the ATI tuner card under Sound, Video, Game Controllers but for some reason this time there is only one device called ATI T200 Unified Driver. Could this be a problem?
By the way, thanks for your patience and help. I am thinking about giving up so that way I do not bother you anymore. LOL I know I must be a pain in the @ss. But really, thanks for your help.
I kept telling you recently that I have no video. I assumed no video no go, but the audio works I just had to turn the line in on. However, my video is still a black screen and the dot does not show that the video is on while in mytv. I am calling it quits. I am now trying out BeyoundTV and it works with my tuner card. I am going to try out the trial until it expires and if it works I will buy it. It so far works great and I have had no problems. I had really hoped to get mediaportal to work, but its ATI's fault. They make crappy drivers and don't open source them so we can make great software. Oh well. I appreciate all of your help and thanks for the time you have dedicated to helping me out
