Hmm - that's odd. I just tested by naming some test files with those names (I assumed the first file is a .avi?) and it works fine. The subtitles field in Ant says 'External Subtitles'.

Can you send me your config file - maybe there's something weird in there.

I assume you're using 0.8.5 of AMCUpdater?

Thanks,

Orion.

Yes the file is .avi
Here is the xml config file

Edit: when i try to test the above file (Tab 'tests'). It is obviously that the mediainfo .dll is able to read movie files correctly because subtitle show 'external subtitle' too. But Ant database show nothing

Well now I'm really confused! Your config file appears to be from an older version of AMCUpdater - it doesn't include the 'Parse Subtitles' option. But clearly you have v0.8.5 if the Tests tab is showing 'external subtitles'. Just for info - MediaInfo.dll doesn't handle the external subtiles, my code does that bit. MediaInfo.dll is only used for embedded subtitles.

Can you open your database file with Notepad or something and check if the 'subtitle' field is there at all for that movie? Could be a typo or something preventing it from showing up in Ant? Worth a try.

Cheers,

Orion.

my AMCupdater is 0.8.5.
I just open database (around 196 movies) and only few movies haveals 'subtitle' fields there. And these subtitles also show up in Ant.
But sthese movies are not the ones which have external subtitle as i mention above. Lots of my movies have external subtitle and they do not show in Ant as well as in database file. ie the movies "Babylon"

Okay, so the subtitle detection logic is clearly working since the subtitle shows up on the Tests tab. And you already have the movies in your database so I assume you're using the Manual Updater not the Interactive tab?

Beyond that I really have no idea I'm afraid! The logic used for import / update is the same code that is used by the Tests tab.

I'll keep looking at the code - if anyone else has problems with subtitles please let me know so we can get this fixed!

Cheers,

Orion.

The new subtitles feature works perfectly for me. In both, manual updater and test modes

I am using the Interactive Tab, not the manual update. However i just try a manual update and it actually indentify the external subtitle.

Aargh! Glad you got it sorted though! Please remember that the interactive tab is for IMPORTS not UPDATES. To update the entries you have to either delete them and re-import them; or run the Manual Updater.

Orion.

Films with a Translated title

Hi,

My database contains films with a translated title (in French for me) and other films with only an Original title.
Before I use your tootls I update my AMD Database with AMC scripts. those scripts always fill a field called FormatedTitle, which contains the TranslatedTitle if exists otherwise FormatedTitle will contain the OriginalTitle
Can you add this feature to your tools ?
It will be very helpfull in MyFilms to display a title (translated or not)
