Hi Orion. I have noticed 2 things:
1- If you have the pugue option checked, then the moved files will be deleted, not updated.

Hi z3us,

Sorry, but I can't replicate this problem. Can you please describe the folder structure you used - what folder you scanned and where the moved file moved to / from?

Thanks,

Orion.

Here you have my log. The file is "el increible hulk.avi"

Why won't this work!

Ok,

I give up! I spent the last 3 days working on this program.
I for the life of me can't get this to work

My setup is as follows

K:\ is a 5 TB Raid 5 Array with all my movies.
As I own the DVD's over 350. All are ripped in VIDEO_TS format. So,
k:\Godfather\Video_TS\(all iFO"s and VOBS for that movie there)

when I run the AMC updater it scans and finds all my movies YAY!
Then it says I have all those movies ORPHANED!
Then, I get this message per movie.
11/25/2008 10:59:20 AM - ERROR : Error importing V for Vendetta\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO : Could not load file or assembly 'grabber, Version=1.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

if you go into that folder everythings there! So what gives? What did I break?

Uninstalled and Reinstalled then patched again fixed it.

Issue occured on 2 boxes both running vista business Sp1

weird!

I have a strange problem, just installed the updater for the first time and updated using the patches on the main page. Ran through a scan using folder name + lookup and everything worked ok with no errors and I selected all my movies using the imdb matches...

I updated myfilms to use the new .xml but when I goto myfilms there is nothing there? When I went to hit save on myfilms config it also said "no movie file to display".

So, if I open the .xml with wordpad its populated with my movies and stuff, but when I open it in ant, there is nothing there, like its an empty file..

I'm more than a little confused.. Have I done something wrong?

May be some fields used by the plugin aren't filled (OriginalTitle or others choosen in the setup..). With your db, please attach your setup file.

Ok so I decided to rewrite this whole post because it was getting disjointed. Basically my findings -

Issue one - The file created by the AMC Updater when opened by ANT appears to show no movie entries. When selected in Myfilms it complains there are no movie files to show. When opening the file manually with wordpad the file appears ok with all the movies and details listed as would be expected.

    Solution -

For some reason when I save my .xml file to the mediaportal directory in the program files directory, niether ANT or Myfilms can see anything inside it? I can select it in the file browsers but they both act like its completely empty.

My only ideas are that this is something to do with Windows Vista (I only installed it this weekend btw). Don't suppose anyone can shed light on this issue for understandings sake??

Issue 2 - My films are contained in folders named as the film name, the files are then placed inside the film name folder and multiparts are ussually identified via cd1 and cd2 however AMC does not see them as multipart files and calls them seperate movies.

    Soultion -

My file names are untouched. They are ussually blahblah.blahblah.cd1 etc as you would expected. Just stumbled accross the regex which is [-|_]cd[0-9] for some reason it was felt the full stop was not a common seperator!!!!! [-|_|.]cd[0-9] works fine after I figured out how to edit the regex :)

So basically not really the fault of the updater at all, but I would have the full stop as a seperator as default personally!

    Thanks for your time guys.

    Hiya,

My only thought on this is that you're using the File - Save option in AMCUpdater? If so then that's the wrong option - the File Save and File Load are for the AMCUpdater configuration files, which contain all the options for the program. The database file itself is only referenced by AMCUpdater; you can't move it around etc. from within my app.

Other than that - not a clue!

For the RegEx - well, that's why it's a modifiable option! I'll look into modifying the default for the next release.

    Cheers,

    Orion.

is there a way to make it add entries in to empty numbers and not just the end?

Sorry - AMCUpdater can't do that. Any particular reason for needing it, other than making the database a little bit tidier?

    Cheers,

    Orion.

    Hi, orion.
The feature "folder name as group identifier" is not working for me.
I attach the AMCu settings, the log and my amc database obtained after importing.
    Thanks

    Hi z3us,

What exactly is the problem with that feature? I had a quick look through your logs / xml but nothing was obvious to me. I recall you saying that it puts in extra spaces - that's on my to-do list still. I've been given a big programming job at work so haven't had much energy for programming in the evenings! But I'll get there.

Let me know when you can,

    Orion.

p.s. I can't believe you have La Lengua Asesina in your colleciton... I worked on the special effects for that film! Sadly I have yet to find an English copy - it seems it was only popular in Spain, where it was made, and Germany.
