As good as the updater is the (non-existing) documentation is a BIG problem for people who didn't follow the threads since months.
E.g. how about a quickstart guide?

I'm stuck at the very first beginning: the scan filters. My filenames contain "AC3", "Divx",... How do I correctly set the filter to ignore these? I entered a line per such fragment but it doesn't work.

THanks

AMCUpdater does come with documentation - albeit only a PDF and not a 'proper' help file. It should cover all you need to get started, as well as how to use the filename filters.

I can't remember which version first came with the documentation but 0.8 certainly has it.

Cheers,

Orion.

Done in future version coming soon ;)

Future version of MyFilms or AMCu?
    AMCu for the brembo asking.
That version of AMCu ( v0.9.0.0) bring also Fanart download from rhe moviedb.org but it'll need an update of MyFilms for displaying...
    So a lot of work...

Any news on the upcoming 0.9 version? to admit i am very much looking forward to the announced features ;-)
thanks for all your hard work and I really love the combination of myfilms, ant updater and the internet scripts!

Thanks for the tip. I found it - but the documentation is ONLY included in the "binaries" package but not in the "installer" package. That's why I didn't found it.
I think this should be changed.
    :)

Ah - thanks for letting me know! If there's ever a new version I'm sure we can correct that!

    Best wishes,

    Orion.

    Hi,

I was hoping to use AMC Updater to just update the media information for my movies (resolution, bitrate etc). I see where I can select the appropriate fields in the settings, but when I try to run it, it just reports the files as (if I reall correctly) orphaned.

Can AMC Updater do what I want?

Yes, I usually update my media info using AMCu. Have you correctly configured your AMC database in AMCu?

I did believe so... but could be wrong.

I also tried to update a couple of other fields like the rating and comments, and I was prompted to confirm/identify the movie (and it looked like it was using the filename rather than the title).

So lets see if I understood.
You want to change the path of every film from:
    Nameofthefilm\Video.mkv

    to

    Nameofthefilm (year)\video.mkv

If so, I think it can be done using a AMC script. Ask for it in the AMC forum: antp.be > Forum > Index
