    Hi Zebons,

    I have identified one problem with the updated AMCupdater-package:

    In case you have a movie already in the DB and add for example a directorscut in another path with another name, the grabber identifies the new movie with the same name as the existant movie (which is correct) - but: It then uses the old ANT-DB-ID for the new path instead of adding the movie as new record with a new DB-ID (wich is definately the preferrable behaviour and older ANTupdater did it exactely like this).
    Currently you will always loose the existing movie when adding the new one. Did you change anything in the "uniquekey"? it "seems" it only uses OriginalTitle now - instead of path + filename. Maybe this was done for the updatefunction from MyFilms GUI?

    Would very much appreciate if you could look into it - I am currently back to old 0.8.x version for importerfunction ...

    Thanks, Guzzi

    I don't understand your needing. AMCU works at this and I Think it MUST for moving files. If you change your storage, it can adapt your database with the new path... ans in that case it DOESN'T create a new entry but upadate the existing one.
    Why do you want to create a new entry for the same Movie ? What is the purpose ?

    Hi Zebons,

    I think you misunderstood me - you are completely right, that AMCupdater should detect "moves" of an existing movie - and it did it in the past and does it with current version - properly updating the movies existing record in this case.

    I am talking about a bug, when adding a new additional movie - when using internetdetails while importing (OFDB in my case).
    Physically it's a new separate movie in different path and with different filename - just same OriginalTitle found with scraper - and that seems to cause a problem (while it worked fine in the past).

    In this case it should ADD the movie and not update thge record of the old movie (that is still there).

    I have added you an example - two moviefolder (before and after) plus the two ANT-DBs - before and after scanning - where you can see, that adding a "T2 - director's cut" replaced record #2 ("T2") instead of adding a record #4.
    This was working fine with 0.8.x versions.

    Thanks foir your support,

    Guzzi

    AW: AMC Updater v0.8.0 Now Available!

    Hi Zebons,

    as requested, I moved the AMCupdater stuff here. Find my findings as follows:

    1.) Nonstandardcharacters do not work in search (single and batch):
    When searching either singlemovie infos or launching AMCupdater as batch to update the DB, no results are found, if the searchstring contains specialcharacters like "ä", "ö", "ü" - very common in german movietitles. Searching on the website works - so maybe it's a problem with the codepage?

    Just checked the stringutils.pas script for ANTdb - there is some special handling for those characters, e.g.:

    // *****
    { Converts windows-1252 and iso-8859-1 characters to ASCII characters }
    function Cp1252ToASCII(Value: string): string;
    begin
    HTMLDecode(Value);
    [...]
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'Ä', 'Z');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'æ', '''');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'Æ', '''');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'ô', '"');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'ö', '"');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'ò', '-');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'û', '-');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'ù', '-');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'Ö', '(tm)');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'Ü', 's');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, '£', 'oe');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, '×', 'z');
    Value := StringReplace(Value, 'ƒ', 'Y');
    Result := Value;
    end;

    2.) Grabber-scripts with minor errors:
    e.g.: Actors="Leonardo DiCaprio&nbsp (Jack Dawson) in CineMotion-script.
    The grabberscripts are not all up2date, I tried to contact Titof, but didn't yet get a reply. Can you provide me the toolkit to work with the scripts or contact him?

    3.) AMCupdater does not properly write the DB and changes the DB-Structure when deleting a single record:
    AMCupdater changes the structure of the ANT-DB - depending if it's batch-run or single movie update (update of a single record) in a different manner.
    There is also additional fields dropped in DB, that disappear after opeing and storing the DB with ANT-application.
    AMCupdater seems to have different behavior on GUI-update-call and direct launching of AMCupdater.exe with same config (I suppose).
    To explain what happens, I quote a little testDB with the different states:

    Step 1: adding 1 movie via manual call of AMC-Updater.exe with the created profile via the GUI.
    Opening and storing the DB in ANT-application does not change the structure - so DB is same after manual storing the DB via AMC-application with only one movie in there:.
    Filename: Movies - Kids.xml-step1-manual update outside MePoGUI
    All ok.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
    <AntMovieCatalog Format="35" Version="3.5.1 (2009-02-01)" Date="10.04.2010 17:08:19">

    </AntMovieCatalog>

    Step 2: Batch Update from Myfilms GUI via AMC-Updater:
    Filename: Movies - Kids.xml-step2-AMCupdater-batch-Update
    All ok, movie added and data ok.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

    </Contents>
    </Catalog>
    </AntMovieCatalog>

    Step 3: Delete Movie-Record (only record, not file) from Details-GUI:
    Filename: Movies - Kids.xml-step3-MovieRecordDeleteFromGUI

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><AntMovieCatalog><Catalog><Properties /><Contents><Movie Number="2" Checked="True" MediaLabel="Server" MediaType="HDD" Source="C:\MyFilms-Test\Movies - Kids\Titanic.wmv" Date="10.04.2010" OriginalTitle="Titanic" TranslatedTitle="Titanic" FormattedTitle="Titanic" Length="0" VideoFormat="WMV3" VideoBitrate="1500" AudioFormat="WMA2" AudioBitrate="192" Resolution="320x240" Framerate="30.000" Languages="English (US)" Size="0" Disks="1"><DateAdded>2010-04-10T00:00:00+02:00</DateAdded><Length_Num>0</Length_Num></Movie></Contents></Catalog></AntMovieCatalog>

    Findings:
    - It seems, the linebreaks are not written properly - although ANT-application can read the file, it's shown in editor all in one line.
    - Two new properties are written in the DB plus a "</movie> endtag:
    <DateAdded>2010-04-10T00:00:00+02:00</DateAdded>
    <Length_Num>0</Length_Num>
    </Movie>

    Manually putting linebreaks in above file shows like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
    <AntMovieCatalog>
    <Catalog>
    <Properties />
    <Contents>
    <Movie Number="2" Checked="True" MediaLabel="Server" [...] Size="0" Disks="1">
    <DateAdded>2010-04-10T00:00:00+02:00</DateAdded>
    <Length_Num>0</Length_Num>
    </Movie>
    </Contents>
    </Catalog>
    </AntMovieCatalog>

    Step4: Open and save DB in ANT-application:
    Filename: Movies - Kids.xml-step4-OpenAndStoreWithANT-Appl
    Opening this file with ANT-application and storing let those additional infos disappear:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
    <AntMovieCatalog Format="35" Version="3.5.1 (2009-02-01)" Date="10.04.2010 18:16:25">
    <Catalog>
    <Properties/>
    <Contents>
    <Movie Number="2" Checked="True" MediaLabel="Server" [...] Size="0" Disks="1"/>
    </Contents>
    </Catalog>
    </AntMovieCatalog>

    So what about those 3 additional infos? Are they required for something? I use ANT-application regulary to update certain details etc., so those infos would always get lost. Or better not even writing them, if they're not required.

    3a.) AMCupdater does not properly write the DB and changes the DB-Structure in Online Updates for "Single-Movie-Mode"
    Similar to the "delete", the DB also gets similar changed on "SingleUpdates".

    Step5: Updating the File from Step4 above results in the structure below; the extra infos are added again.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><AntMovieCatalog><Catalog><Properties /><Contents><Movie Number="2" Checked="True" MediaLabel="Server" MediaType="HDD" Source="C:\MyFilms-Test\Movies - Kids\Titanic.wmv" Date="10.04.2010" Rating="7.0" OriginalTitle="Titanic" TranslatedTitle="Titanic" FormattedTitle="Titanic (Titanic)" Director="James Cameron" Country="USA" Category="Drama, Katastrophen, Liebe/Romantik" Year="1997" Length="0" Actors="Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Gloria Stuart, Bill Paxton, Bernard Hill, David Warner, Victor Garber, Jonathan Hyde, Suzy Amis" URL="http://www.ofdb.de/film/227,Titanic" Description="Die Geschichte der Titanic und ihres Untergang im Atlantik auf ihrer Jungfernfahrt am 15. April 1912. 1700 Menschen waren an Bord des Dampfers, als er..." VideoFormat="WMV3" VideoBitrate="1500" AudioFormat="WMA2" AudioBitrate="192" Resolution="320x240" Framerate="30.000" Languages="English (US)" Size="0" Disks="1" Picture="Titanic.jpg"><DateAdded>2010-04-10T00:00:00+02:00</DateAdded><Length_Num>0</Length_Num></Movie></Contents></Catalog></AntMovieCatalog>

    4.) AMCupdater started standalone updates existing movies with new moviepath, overwriting old record:

    This is the problem on top of this thread, just repeated here.
    I updated the DB, that had Titanic.wmv already in there with a second movie with name "Titaniv (Directors Cut).wmv) - the old movie is still there!
    While scanning the internetdata, AMCupdater aksks for matching movie - which is the same title, as the one already in the DB - and overwrites the existing record with the new data.
    The behavior should be as in old AMCupdater 0.8 verion:
    - The key is the filename, not the movietitle.
    - So, AMCupdater can recognize "moved files" and update the record accordingly, but new files with different names wuld be recognized as new movies and ADDED, not overwriting the old record with it's still existing movie.

    As far as I know, old AMCupdater always took Movienumers increasing - in this example, it should have taken "4" for the TitanicDirectorsCut - and keep the normal Titanicmovie on record "2".

    You can do this test with 0.8 version, which works exactly like this.

    Filename: Movies - Kids.xml-step7-adding2moviesWithAMCupdaterstandalone

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

    AW: AMC Updater v0.8.0 Now Available!

    rechecked an old bug, that is still in:

    5.) Audiobitrate and Videobitrate are incorrectly written to DB:

    As mentioned and confirmed by Orionhall, the audiobitrate retrieved from mediainfo.dll is incorrectly calculated; it is divided by 1024, but should be divided by 1000 to write correct values in DB.
    See also https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...0-now-available-46463/index19.html#post382025
    How to reproduce:
    Import a movie (or use "test-tab") with e.g. AC3 audio - it shows 438 kbps - instead 448. Same error for all other bitrates.

    Checked the latest Sources I could find (I think 0.7.x or 0.8.x) it's the following lines in Module1.vb:

    Case "videobitrate" 'divide by 1024
    Try
    TempString = MI.Get_(StreamKind.Visual, 0, "Bitrate")
    Integer.TryParse(TempString, TempInteger)
    If TempInteger <> 0 Then
    ReturnValue = CInt(TempInteger / 1024).ToString

    Case "audiobitrate" 'divide
    Try
    TempString = MI.Get_(StreamKind.Audio, 0, "Bitrate")
    Integer.TryParse(TempString, TempInteger)
    If TempInteger <> 0 Then
    ReturnValue = CInt((TempInteger / 1024)).ToString

    So it's only changing those 2 lines to
    "ReturnValue = CInt(TempInteger / 1000).ToString"
    to fix that :)

    Guzzi

    PS: Can you post the latest sources from AMCupdater (and MyFilms) somewhere? (Or check then in to Sourcefourge MP-Plugins) ... the last available Sources are very old...

    You should use the latest version. Already fixed here !!!

    Please DON'T report bugs for previous versions.

    4.) AMCupdater started standalone updates existing movies with new moviepath, overwriting old record:

    The previous version had a BUG as it wasn't able to update Movies for renaming files. So If you had a movie and change the filename, it created each time a new entry and it was a mistake.
    So now after finding the Movie name with Internet search it try to update an existing movie if it exists. If not, it create then a new entry.
    You use for your particular need that bug but it's not a right idea. You should try to use the group name folder to your movie so it should not update the existing entry as the folder name an then the movie name should be distinct (to be tested).
    In anycase the actual process will be change for your particular needing. :sorry:

    Hi Zebons,
    sorry for the misleading bugreport about mediainfo - I have rechecked and you are right, it was analyzed properly - no idea how I got the wring result - possibly launched a wring version from other directory.
    Sorry again.

    Ok, I understood - will do some testing if this suggestion works.
    But I think it would be also good solution evrn if keeping the logic you mentioned for updating movies by title, to check if the current source doesn't point to an existing file and only update the older record, if no existing file is there.
    Anyway, if your suggestion works, I would be fine with that, I'll check that later...

    these movies have fanart in themoviedb.org (TMDb) | The open movie database

    not sure why these movies aren't being found

    i mentioned this before, maybe you can search by title and year? is there a script xml file for the fanart grabber or is it embedded into amcupdater?

    thanks.
    The most reason for Fanart not Found is when the grabber found too many responses for the searching Movie (Title contains a part pf the serching movie and year in a range y-2, y+2) as it doesn't ask for the correct one during a global update scan.
    You can launch a Manual Update (option Download Fanart) to improve that as in that case, AMCU will ask for the good entry when several founded.
    But it'd be better to find more precisely during a global search and Update...
    Can you send me an extract of your DB for fanart not found Movies (please with sufficient examples for trying to improve the searching method).
