Hi Okay, I thought you ment me.
But I've got only one HDD and one Tuner so you seem to talk to a different guy
Because I haven't got much devices attached I don't think it would be the problem. But I'll have an eye on it.

I cant see any reason these problems should be PSU related, first off, these problems occur when the CPU is trying to use less power. Secondly im currently using a 350W PSU, and only one tuner(DVB-C) and the problem is still present.

You(Okay) seem to be commenting the setup listed by bigj, but he never experienced any problems :)

    MY BAD! Sorry....

I think it is rather unbelivable that the rig I was commenting even start up, though....

    Still; try speedfan...

    EDIT: Tried updating the BIOS?

    EDIT: Tried updating the BIOS?

Speedfan doesnt support fan control on mobo i am using( Asus A8N-E ). Anyway, its not going to get much quieter. My CPU heatsink is a 'passive' Sonic Tower. I have 2 SilenX 92mm fans in my system(these *are* less noisy than Pabst), one in the PSU, and one attached on the side of the CPU heatsink. The computer is complete inaudible. The HD is placed on a foam sponge :) And of course the northbridge cooler has been replaced as well.

I did look at the BIOS updates, but the newer revisions have nothing to say about Cool&Quiet, but of course its always a good idea to try.

Would you be so kind a make the app available to me, just in case CnQ is the thing that causes problems on my machine ?

Verify that CnQ is indeed causing the problem with you as well, if it is ill be sure to send you the plugin, and ill probably make it a bit more polished as well( seeing as other people has the same problem ).

:( By installing the latest Twinhan drivers I messed up my system yesterday. So I wasn't able to check whether CnQ causes the stutter.
Today I'll do a clean install ogf my machine.
In the evening I'll have first results.

Have you got any recommendations regarding my new installation ?

Yes, start by installing only the bare minimum of drivers. Then make a system restore point and install Twinhan DTV (the WDM drivers and software). Verify that it works without stuttering. Now install the AMD CPU driver and enable CnQ(Minimal Power Management profile), use the AMD dashboard demo or similar to verify that the CPU speed is dynamic. Now try to run Twinhans DTV software. If you get stuttering there you definetly have the same problem as me.

When you want to install MP, revert to your system restore point, and install the stuff necessary for MediaPortal (BDA drivers, .NET etc) as well as media portal itself. Then you can test it again, remember you can disable CnQ by changing the power profile away from "Minimal Power Management".

    EDIT:
One more thing, each time you install a new driver, or codec, make a system restore point just before. I normally dont use system restore, but its a good idea to use it when installing things on a HTPC.

Yes, I can confirm to have exactly the same Problem.
Without CnQ everything seems to be o.k., with CnQ its even worse than before the reinstallation of my box.
Now I'll test the same thing with MP.

Yesterday I treid to use a restorepoint, too. Unfortunately it didn't help me. Today I made an image of my hdd.

I'll keep you informed if I can reproduce the error insinde of MP with BDA drivers installed.

Im 99.99999% sure that you will get the same problem in MP, but please do verify.

If i have time ill upload the plugin i have created later today, its not a polished piece of software in any way, but it seems to work.

Until then i recommend you just disable CnQ. I wonder whether this is an issue caused by AMD or Twinhan?
