[Android] aMPdroid 0.8 - Streaming and more (1 Viewer)

You can only watch channels on the same transponder with one tv tuner. As long as your tvserver is able to tune a channel, afaik (haven't tried yet to be honest) it should be possible to start multiple streams (as long as your cpu can handle it).

I know... my question would be more specific if I was to phrase it as follows: Would I need second TV tuner so that I can watch whichever channel I wish in both of my clients?
Also is there a chance of supporting the streaming of multiple transponders?

First. for this GRATE APP!!

I have 1 problem. I can not stream or view movies/videos that are on my networkdrive (it is mapped in Windows)
I can see the epsoldes in Series/Videos but not stream them.
I can't see the files in Shares when looking at the shared folder there. (but works with the local files (and streaming works there)

Anyone having this problem ?

Works grate on my other machine where everythig is local.

This has nothing todo with aMPdroid. As long as MediaPortal tvserver can tune a channel aMPdroid can stream it. So if you have channels on different transponders you need more tuners. Not sure if I understand your question correctly.

Nice and "can it do..."

OK, I put this onto my Android phone. Trembling when I had to add the TV4Home and other things, but durn it if it didn't all just work.

Now comes the software creep.

The remote control of the MP HTPC is nice but it seems to not have all the keys - there only seems to be one screen's worth.

Will the extra keys be added at some time?

I can do it (I've written an Android app - so know which end of Eclipse to hit to make an apk), but don't want to tread on people's toes.

I think it will need additional screens (do you have preference for new activity or what?).

Oh, the music, is this going to work sometime? The initial screen is a bit underwhelming but then there's lots of room for more icons!


One thing. How the heck did you rewind live radio - MP doesn't let you do that!!!


I've been trialling this against iPiMP, I think this is 'rounder' but it does have a sharper set up.


(An extension to this would be to use the android phone/tablet as a smart radio alarm clock. Maybe I'll look at that )

You people are FAR too clever, as soon as I think of something that MP might need I come across something like this - sigh........

Troubleshooting - MediaPortal Wiki

hmm.. I strange MyTVSeries can see the share and display/play in Mediaportal but the problem seems to be with GmaWebService as you pointed out.
I have tried to change the "Log On As" on the GmaWebService to Local Service/Network Service/My Domain User... with no luck.

This share is using a another User that is only on the share machine (local.admin on that computer) so I cant let the DmaWebService use that user.

I know this is not normal scenario but any ideas are appreciated

Then that's your problem. As far as I know it isn't possible for us to specify credentials in the service for accessing a share, so I'm afraid this kind of setup is never going to work.

But it works with MyTVSeries and MovingPictures. somehow they know that this is just a Network-drive share that is available to them.

With which user do you login on your htpc? If your shares are accessible by anyone, you can just create a dummy-user and set this one in the webservice...

Edit: The reason why it work with MediaPortal is because it is running as an application in the user context while gma is a windows service.

Hey Guys, Diebagger and i are working on refining the graphics for the remote-section... well, eeeh I am doing the art-work and Diebagger is giving his opinion and states his wishes and requested changes

In the current version of the remote section, the graphics are not sharp and have a white (shadow?)border around them.

I have re-modelled al the buttonstuff from scratch and we think it is more edgy/sharper.

We are curious what you think of it so far... so shoot ahead.

One other Thing:

I know it's not a problem on aMPdroid, but with aMPdroid i use WoL first time for wakeup and did wondering how MP was not on my screen most time.

If anybody have the problem that MP is not displayd after WoL from standby, the option in MP-Config "apply workaround to fix Media Portal freezing on resume on some systems" resolved this problem for me.
Without this option i didnt se MP after resume, but only when started with WoL, i had to press "Esc" to see it again, after starting with Remotecontrol it was okay.

Perhaps it helps someone
