What was a "datafeed" in Meedio is the "GUIPropertyManager" in MediaPortal: a perfect way for plugins and themes to share data and notify each other about data changes. The GUIPropertyManager is not yet used as consequently and as structured by MediaPortal (and its plugins) as the datafeeds were in Meedio.mzemina said:HdWagner said:...To the guys who (like me) think about moving from Meedio to MediaPortal: Is there need for any other of my Meedio plugins (the *2C series)?
From the guy (like me) I thank you for bringing over your C.all plugin. Could you list these other plugins and a brief description of each?
Anyway. The *2C plugins created those datafeeds. The MP versions would create GUIProperties, which had to be utilized by yet to be developed plugins.
Clock2C - defines properties with current time and date in a customizable format
Outlook2C - defines properties with data and events from Outlook (not Express). Usable for birthday reminders or mail notification.
WinMessenger2C - defines properties with data and events from Microsofts WinMessenger. Usable for "User xyz is online" notifications and "User xyz says 'Hi!'" messages.
MotherboardMonitor2C - defines properties with data and events from MotherboardMonitor. Usable for "Your PC is about to explode" messages.
ExternalVariables2C - defines properties based on data from certain webpages. The pages have to be in jaLCDs format. Usable for stock tickers, weather tickers etc.
ZoomPlayer2C - defines properties with data from ZoomPlayer. Overwrites the properties from MyMusic.
WMP10Player - was just a finger exercise and wont be continued.
iMon VFD Interface - will probably be integrated in C.All. It sends data from the C.All repository to iMon VFDs.
I'm not sure if and how these plugins can be converted. But since I needed only one day for C.Mee/C.All, it might be a simple task.
