If you choose to record a show using "Any time on any channel" the TV Engine will record the show, but it will always use the EPG information from the channel where you selected "Any time on any channel".

This means that if I select to record "Simpsons" when I'm watching TV3 using this option, the TV server will record all the episodes from TV3 and TV6 but it will be using the EPG information from TV3 every time, even if the show is running on TV6.

This causes some confusion since it looks like it didn't record the correct show.

The attached logfile shows how the TV server finds the next episode to record on TV6 but uses the TV guide info from TV3 (ie, creates files called "Du är vad du äter" instead of "Simpsons")

This issue exists on both TVE2 & TVE3, just that I don't use TVE2 anymore.

There is a thread report somewhere from a couple of months ago with this error.

I have stoped using this schedule type because of it.

The other man problem is that the schedular can't cope with two identical named recordings occuring at the same time so series that are broadcast one ofter the other can't utilise pre/post padding.

The first schedule has to stop before the next can start which leaves you with a time gap of up to a minute depending on MP processing

This problem was fixed in a recent SVN (last week, I think) .... :)

Unfortunatly it hasn't , latest SVN log below

As you can see the second identical named schedule which should have started at 23:30 didn't until the first had finished (plus padding) at 23:34:22 nearly four and half minutes late.

    Hi,
This it's a known issue & it's in Mantis called Back to Back with same series name.
It is fixed for TVE2, but not TVE3 yet.

So I guess "any time any channel" isn't even worth considering a bug? Or are you saying that it is, somehow, the same bug as back-2-back?

If so, shouldn't the mantis issue reflect this aswell?

If you can't verify this bug, please let me know, since all it takes is someone using my tvguide.xml file and renaming two of their channels to TV3 & TV6 and check and see what happens.

I'd hate it if all that became of this thread was a hijack to another issue :(
