I really like to see the work continued, as this skin brings new features to MP2 (i.e. free placement and size of tiles).

@ge2301 @wizard123 what do you think about this? Wiz can provide the layout ideas, graphics a.s.o. and ge2301 and me could continue in xaml coding.

For this skin I started from scratch, to remove many of the redundant styles that we have in Titanium: first there was Reflexion skin, which copied many styles, than later they were copied to Titanium. That's why I made a fresh start based on default only.

Thats highly appreciated In Titanium default skin I realized the "copy paste" behaviour

Funny: in this branch I fixed the background manager issue before, but forgot about it
I plan to rebase the branch and push it to our main repository. Then further styling can continue.

That happens to me aswell. Just yesterday some guys from my team asked for a solution for a problem. I said, we need to investigate first deeper. Basically ok for me. Step by step I come into the xaml world, though I would need still a lot of help in the beginning. But I also have to say, that there will be times I'm completely unavailable. Currently I have more time. But from October I'm almost every second week around the world for customer visits.

So here we go: I rebased and pushed the current version into main repo: https://github.com/MediaPortal/MediaPortal-2/tree/FEAT_ApolloOne. As summary of current state see the screenshots below:


What you should know:

1. Player controls are unfinished in design. They will later appear only if media is active (now they are only visible for improving layout)
2. As the "Default" skin's resources are inherited, everything works in principle but looks like a big mix of two skins. What I propose to change next:
   1. Button style of the top "tab" bar (easy)
   2. Create generic style for "DefaultButtonStyle" and "ButtonWideStyle": this immediately affects all buttons
   3. Design the media browsing screen (where is the menu, how it's separated from content area, where should the breadcrumb bar go to...)
   4. Adopt the "master_bare.xaml" structure to this design

Here is a design style tweak much slicker in visual appearance with only minor changes, also my vision of the last screen you posted the browsing media one ? the two big posters are your most watched series for quick access and a persistent menu bar so it feels like your always in one screen like a unified ui and can go where ever you want without going back etc and doing away with the location tabs ( breadcrumb bar ? ) at the top in other skins.

Great design !
Few questions: what is the "house" in top left for? If it should be used for navigation, which screen is "home"?
I like the font, can you attach it here (TTF)? Does it also contain unicode characters (like cyrillic, greek...)? I know we can't support all languages with one font (see https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/MP2/ for a list), but we should try to do the best.

Do we want to consider weather and news for home screen?

How should the bottom area (with image and description) look like while one (or in MP2 two) player(s) are concurrently active?
