Hello everyone,

I've read the forums and also do not have difficulties setting up MediaPortal, but my card (software encoding) is not yet among those supported. I have got a screenshot of GraphEdit's screen for the card's filters and also did the corresponding ms-word document.
I send it to an email address I found here on the forum, but did not get any answer yet.
Does support-request rather have to be posted here?

I have quite some successful experience capturing/recording with the above system, but rather would like to use MediaPortal for scheduled TV-recordings/captures.

Thanks for your time and troubles, keep up this excellent piece of work! :D

There are two stickie threads for the AIW cards in the Support-->General Support section. Reading these posts may help.

Also, in my CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file, it is set up to skip over two entries for the AIW. I do not no why it is set up this way, but you need to remove the "<!--" at the beginning, and the "-->" at the end. This way it will not skip these entries. This may be different in a newer version of MP (I am using 0.2.0.4)

This is for the cards using the T200 drivers. Is this what you are using? Go ahead and post your graph and other information tht is relevent.

I have an AIW 9600 Pro. I can get it to work, but the sound remains on all the time.

Paul

Hi there Paul,

thanks for the fast answer. Yes I looked up the threads - partly. The problem seems, that mine (All-in-Wonder X800GT) in some ways seems to be special... Other software, that ran fine with my former 9800 Pro and presented no problems whatsoever, does not recognize the card.

Yes, am using the T200 drivers, Catalyst 6.12 in fact.

Well, I will post the files, one the word-doc with the respective filters + monikers from GraphEdit, the other a .pdf-file with the image of GrapEdit's screen.

Wow, that's alot of filters. You only need the ones listed in the CaptureCardDefinitions file:
Code:
<capturecard commercialname="ATI All-in-Wonder X series (Analogue)" capturename="ATI T200 AVStream Analog Capture" devid="ntativrv01">
    <capabilities tv="true" radio="true" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="false"/>
    <tv>
      <interface cat="mux" video="" audio="" mpeg2="0"/>
      <filters>
        <filter cat="tvtuner"     name="ATI T200 AVStream Analog Tuner"     checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="tvaudio"     name="ATI T200 AVStream Analog TV Audio"  checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="crossbar"    name="ATI T200 AVStream Analog Xbar"      checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="capture"     name="ATI T200 AVStream Analog Capture"   checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="videncoder"	name="ATI Media Center Video Encoder"     checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="audencoder"	name="ATI Media Center Audio Encoder" 	  checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="mux"      		name="ATI Media Center Multiplexer"		    checkdevice="false"/>
      </filters>
      <connections>
        <connection sourcefilter="tvtuner"      sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar"	  sinkpin="%tvtuner%"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="tvtuner"      sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="tvaudio"	  sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="tvaudio"      sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar" 	  sinkpin="%audiotuner%"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="crossbar"     sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture"	  sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="crossbar"     sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="capture"	  sinkpin="1"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="capture"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="videncoder"	  sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="capture"      sourcepin="3" sinkfilter="audencoder"	  sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="videncoder"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"		  sinkpin="1"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="audencoder"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"		  sinkpin="0"/>
      </connections>
    </tv>
  </capturecard>
Load only those filters in GraphEdit and try to connect the pins. If successful, you should be able to watch TV in the graph. Right click on the tuner and open the properties, you should be able to select the type of broadcast (NTSC) and channel.

Since the device ID is the same as yours, it should see it. Post the entry from your file, if it is different.

Edit: I see that you need the Media Center encoders.

Hello Paul,

once again: thanks for answering that fast!

I have been successful partly, going by your suggestions:

1. Opened CardDef...xml-file, found the entry (and the commentary-tag), removed the tag, saved (MP of course closed).

2. Looked for the Media Center Encoders in GraphEdit, shown there under the respective filter names with corresponding (should-be) path, called "...path\atimcenc.dll" I found the file in the .cab-file of the ATi xcode-pack, copied it to system32 (to make sure) and the MMC location "...path\atimcenc.dll". Afterwards the Media Center Encoders showed up in green colour in GraphEdit AND MP connnected to the card, BUT there is as yet no video or audio, i.e. black screen.

I chose Dscaler Decoders and tha MPV/MPA-Decoders and also tried reboot, but alas, no video/audio.

I attach the graph from GraphEdit, I am not able to watch TV inside it. Would a window (or similar) pop up from inside GraphEdit as soon as I play the graph?

Are you still getting any errors?

I don't know if you correctly installed the MCE filters. Here is a post where dman describes the process:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=43103&postcount=2

Also, I don't think you should have the ATI MPEG Audio Encoder and the MPA Decoder filter in the graph.

And, to play a graph, click on the play arrow > in the toolbar. A seperate window will pop up with the video. Make sure the tuner is set to a known working channel and to the correct settings (PAL)

Well, I did what is mentioned in the post, register the filter (...dll) with regserv32 (which would only work if filter is present in C:/Windows/system32[folder].

Anyway, unfortunately the graph 'seems' to play, i.e. I can press the 'play'-button, as before, but no seperate window pops up.

Now I changed the graph a bit, deleted ATI MPEG Audio Encoder altogether and it looks now like this: (s. attachment)

But still nothing happens, when I play the graph... :(

Thanks for all the patience. :D

(Note: the MPA Decoder was added automatically, when I connected the ATI MPEG Encoder with the ATI...Multiplexer-filter, but perhabs that's just by-the-way...as I deleted them from the graph anyway.)

OK, maybe I'm wrong about that. When I look at my own setup (AIW 9600 Pro) it won't play that graph either.

Have you tried to set it up in MP again? Even if you get an error, try to open the graph that it makes. Not the graph that we made, go to File->Connect To Remote Graph...

That was really interesting!

Here is the "Remote Graph" image, amazing! Might help to set up MP or change the "...Def.xml"-file?

(Opened MP>My TV, opened GraphEdit, File>Connect to Remote Graph; in case someone likes to know in detail.)

Hope you can make suggestions how to alleviate the error...

By the way: I don't get an error-message in MP anymore, since I altered the "xml"-file, ...just black screen inside MP, TV-button showing "on" for TV, but no audio either...

I'm not sure why it is making that graph.

The graph that I want to see is created during the card setup process. Open the "Setup MediaPortal" program. Go to Television->Capture Cards->(select Add button)->TV Capture card.

A graph should be created when it (trys to) scan for channels.

Also post the full title of the card(s) that MP finds on your PC.

P.S. If that graph is correct, it is not loading the ATI Media Center Encoders. You may need to try to re-install them or try a different version of them.
