Hi thedigga

Depends on if you have disabled "grap EPG only for channels on the same transponder". *Don't* enable that if you want the data for the other channels to be picked up. Also, if you've only enabled the timeshifting EPG grabber then you're likely to only get EPG for the channels that you view.

mm

All settings are as they should be; machine has been on (tvservice running) for days, but those few channels dont get any epg data (other channels have data). Sooo... looks like I have an excuse to start coding... :)

    Maybe :)
Personally I would still check what is available with the EPG Collector first. The EPG Collector has an EPG finder tool which allows you to check whether EPG is available on a given mux/transponder. After that, you can scan the transponder and try to collect EPG from it - log output (shown within the application) will tell you whether EPG is available for specific channels or not.

I'd like to see something along the lines of GuideDigger make a comeback.
I'm currently using the over the air info, but find it sorely lacking in program descriptions. Most of the time all I seem to get is the show name and nothing else. I can only assume that's all the stations are broadcasting in terms of program info.

    Hi Guys

Can anyone assist me with EPG problems?? I have recently resolved some picture quality issues I was having with MP thanks to some cluey forum users :) thanks.

My latest issue is that there seems to be an error with my EPG set up. I have set up the record function to start 7 minutes before a scheduled TV program starts and it is set to finish 7 minutes after a program ends. BUT it still stops recording about 5 minutes before the end of the show....??????

Having been patient with the HTPC whilst I sorted out the PQ my wife is now about to throw the thing out the window as it is incredibly frustrating to lose the end of a show??

To me this sounds like an EPG issue??

Can some assist??? Im in Australia.

    Regards

    Hi jck

Either EPG (which should be easy to check) - set up a dummy recording and note when the recording starts and stops relative to the program start and stop time in the TV guide - or maybe... did you restart the TV Server after changing those pre/post settings? They don't get applied until after you've done that.

When you view the EPG what does it show for the show times? Are they accurate? Is the time set correctly on your PC?

When viewing the EPG it shows all the accurate times AND the time on the PC is accurate also.

    A couple of questions.

I note there are three EPG plugins with MP 1.2.1

    - TV Movie EPG
    - XmlTv
    - WebEGP

Well, I think those are the ones.

Is it only possible to use one of these OR can you use more than one??

Which of these is the best one to use?????

Also, if I turn one of the EPG plugins off and another on do I have restart the TV server? If so, how do you restart it?? Is it simply a case of turning the PC on and off etc?? mm1352000 suggested this good idea so will give it a crack tonight.

I will do some test recordings tonight - I have set the end record setting to extend 20 minutes past the end of the show. Will see what works.

Are there any other time configuration settings in MP that I am missing and need to consider??

Is it ok to post this in this thread OR should it go as a new thread??

    Regards
    JCK

It looks as if Guide Digger has finally passed away on the 14th December. RIP Guide Digger and RIP angusmann.

Any development on your EPG grabber thedigga? I am now looking for a reliable replacement for both free to air and Foxtel.

I have found a new grabber that seems to have recently added support for Australian EPG! I am yet to get it to work for all channels but there seems to be hope as i'm getting something. Will keep trying. Now have it up and running and it works like a charm!!!
    :D

    Link: WebGrab+Plus

Let me know if anyone gets it working before me.

I have posted my config and .ini file in the WebGrab+Plus forum above if you are interested in this grabber? You will need the updated .ini file anyway in my post as it has some fixes from the dev. Until a new version is released anyway!

FINALLY another simple, no hassles grabber for Aussie users!!

    Enjoy,

    Justin
