Hi Spraglekans: Your link points to the RIP section for MPTagThat. The Wiki contains info on how the settings for ripping (aka Music Import) should be set, but not how to use the functionality. I can test later, but maybe megahorst can try with the debug option and post the resulting logs here.

But btw: The WIKI entry that you are quoting is for MPTagThat, not for Mediaportal. I saw this before I have opened this post.

Sorry not read all of this so far but (the very hidden) way to rip stuff in MP is to enter shares view, navigate to drive or folder to rip, bring up context menu, choose scan.
The the other option is to highlight drive / folder and press record.

Damn . Anyway, the procedure I wrote (repeated by jameson_UK) worked here.

Music -> Shares -> Select CD -> Import cd-info -> Right-click-meun -> Import

It works!!

Yesterday evening I have tried again after reading the new posts here.

But oddly I not in the same way as jameson_uk wrote.

In share view I had to navigate to the view where all the titles of the CD are shown. I had to highlight one and then press record.

Mediaportal then ripped the whole CD and inserted it into the music database.

Great !!!

That is what I was trying to explain (just badly )

I will (I really will if I get 5 minutes away from work) update the Wiki. This is one thing that is particularly difficult to find.

Of course anyone with a forum account is more than welcome to update the Wiki

I have created a short WIKI entry.

But this is my first entry to the wiki. So everybody should fell free to correct my entry or tell me how to make it better (I'm always willing to learn )
