    Update

    Found mine

Bluetooth mouse (hid device) had mysteriously reenabled itself to bring out of hibernation (everything disabled except keyboard).
And even though it was sitting on its charger. some movement was causing it to resume.
Can everyone reading this with the above problem, check and disable anything in device manager that is set to bring out of standby in the driver settings.

    Thanks

    MP and System

    Hi all,
but..... how MP can impact entire system suspend procedure (also when it is closed...)? It's strange!

And, when I found this problem, I had just only copied SVN files and folders on existing version (+ start.bat)...

May be that MediaPortal.exe at startup sets something into the registry (or something like this) that affects entire suspend of the PC (I think no..) ??

...or perhaps there is a task (last version of powerscheduler ??) that, at the end of suspend procedure, calls immediatly the resume ??

However this evening I have tried to restore from a working Ghost image, then I've uninstall completely the MP, reboot, then reinstall RC4 with SVN mediaportal-svn-04-20-2006--10-30 and the problem persists...!

Note that if I try to return to RC3 (a working SVN version of 13 April) the problem persists too !

    I can't understood...!

:?: Developers: can you help us ? :?:

Thanks a lot in advance !!!
    Dado

hmmm... at least now i know I'm not the only one :)

ya, i started having the same problem right after an SVN install early this week.
As per above, not quite sure how an MP upgrade could affect a machine-wide function(?).

BTW, now when i manually (try to) hibernate in my XP desktop - i still get the same problem - auto resume after it hibernates. This happens without MP (rc4) running....

again, thanks guys for sharing your problems :) - i was starting to worry that I had a corrupted XP install.. *shudder* .. i don't think i can stand another XP reinstall - if i ever have to do another XP install, it'll be time to move on to Ubuntu !

    u guys take care,

    Hi there again,

I don't think simply disconnecting the device is good enuff - I actually tried this prior to reading this thread.... and it didn't work for me too..

But after reading this thread (esp. Paranoid D's message), I actually disabled the feature "Allow device to bring computer out of standby" ... you can find this feature via Device Manager -> mouse/keyboard -> properties(?) -> power management tab...

Both my keyboard and mouse were enabled (?).. dunno why..
Anyway, after I disabled the feature on both devices, i was able to hibernate straight away...

    :)

Read my above post about device manager, check mouse, keyboard HID and also modem, that in the power settings option, allow to bring out of standby is not ticked.

guys, i'm feelling like a real noob here

venger, you're right.. just disconeting device doesn't help...

whole time i was checking Human Interface Devices branch in device manager, disabling there everything that could be disabled at all, disabled same thing in network card properties, etc... i was changing power management options in bios, even upgraded mobo bios to latest version... reinstalled mp... never, not once, cross my mind to check Keyboards and Mice branch in device manager
of course, there was the main problem. disabling 'Allow device to bring ...' option there solved that problem for me :D

in my defense i can only say that i'm 100% certain that with older ver of mp suspend was working without such probs. in fact, i bought that wireless keyboard two-three weeks ago and suspend and resume worked like a charm then (before my htpc was keyboardless).

anyway, that prob is (at last) history for me. one prob down, dozens to go ;)

tx to all (specially to Paranoid Delusion and venger) and sorry if i stressed someone with that prob (devs and test group). i'm really ashamed
