try this debug script and let me know what messages it tells you
Debug script (right-click, save as)

When i run the script, some pop up windows appear with messages

1st window: This is the IMDB#:
2nd window: This is the backdrop address:
3rd window: no backdrops found??

And still no backdrops were downloaded

Please help. Thank you

well, those messages tell me that the script is not finding the imdb#. Are you sure you have the imdb URL in the URL field of the database?

can you post your database file?

Thank you for your prompt reply
All my movies are scanned from imdb and they get their imdb url already
Here the database

please guide me

problem solved!

your URLs were formatted like this: The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and mine were The Internet Movie Database (IMDb). anyway, just redownload the script it should work perfectly now.

Thank you very much for your new script. It worked for me and downloaded 70% of my films. But i noticed that although some films had fanart in www.themoviedb.org but the script did not download them. such as Blood Diamond or Gladiator or lots of other films

hmm, i just tried those two movies and they both worked for me. Sometimes the movies don't come up beacuse they don't have the imdb# added in. Try searching the imdb# (ie. tt0450259) in themoviedb. The movie should come up in the search. If it doesn't, the imdb number is wrong or there is no imdb # associated with the movie.

i mentioned this in the first step in the instructions:

Instructions:
Copy your database xml file, rename it to fanart.xml or something and put it in your fanart directory.

you should have a different xml file in a different directory so that it doesn't replace your cover art! then run the script and save the database. after that, you will have all fanart jpg files in a "fanart" directory. put this location in the myfilms config and everything will work fine.

I did rename the file into a different directory... I'll try again and see if I screwed something up

As the URL field of the database is used to point to your movie, I need to change this back to the original IMDB address for this new script to work.

To get this data, I re-ran the imdb script (and unchecked everything but the URL to import only this required value) but unfortunately I get prompted to confirm/select each movie in my database. As I have nearly 600 movies this not going to be feasible.

How is everyone else getting around this...?

is the imdb url in any of the fields? if so, i can modify the script for you.

if not, you can run the imdb script in batch mode. (in the scripting menu look on the right where it says "script options" then look for batch mode. set this to 1)
