just an FYI, since I just rebuilt my system including a completely fresh install of MP 1.2.1 and MovingPictures...this issue still is present (exactly as described in the OP)

the solution is quite simple. Go to : MediaInfo download only the dll and replace the one in the media portal folder. That should fix the problem.

I have also posted a bug report on http://code.google.com/p/moving-pictures/issues/detail?id=1046#c2 but they didn't see fit to update mediainfo.dll in the latest version of mediaportal. I dont even think they checked the problem...

yeah the fix is relatively simple, it just seemed a bit odd that there have been multiple new releases and the issue hasn't been resolved (when the code resolving the issue is obviously available)
