opening Ant after modifying the database file - this would be more easily done with a script. You can create a batch file which runs my updater, and then runs Ant automatically. Also since Ant can be configured to always re-open the previously used file this should be quick and easy to do. The script would be along the lines of...

c:\AMCUpdater\AMCUpdater [command line options here]
c:\Program Files\Ant Movie Catalog\MovieCatalog.exe

If you save that as a .bat file it should do what you need.
Would it be possible to open ant ONLY if new files were added by amc updater?

Ah and it would be great if u enabled purgue option in command line
TY for ur great job

Hi there,

Great program, just what I have been looking for. Nice to see an x64 version also!

Just one error so far (maybe bug in mediainfo .dll - i tried also mediainfo x64 0.7.5.9):

19/02/2008 20:20:51 - File Imported - x.mkv
19/02/2008 20:20:51 - ERROR : Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.

The error seems to happen when files are gigabytes in size rather that one cd rips.

Cheers,

-jj-

    thanks for the great app.

Can it be that AMC has got problems with big numbers of folders/files?

I could add about 203 files. When I tried to add more AMC crashed while updating xml file.

Glad you like it sir :)

I don't have much by way of HDTV and the very biggest file in my collection is just 2GB. I'll find a suitably large Matroska file and will see if I can duplicate your problem. I suspect it's just a small integer being used somewhere, possibly in the file size field.

I'll let you know if I sort that out.

    Cheers,

    OrionHall.

Hmm - I doubt that's the case. I just tested the x64 version with 900+ files in a large directory structure - took a while but no problems. Please post some more details if you have time - what version, what OS, does the app crash on the same file each time?

    Thanks,

    OrionHall.

orion what do you think about my suggestion?

    Hold your horses mate! :D

The purge option from the command line can be enabled I suppose. I just have a problem with it as it can so easily wipe your database if you get the command line arguments wrong, or if the files aren't available when it runs. An easy change for the list for the next bugfix release I guess.

To launch the Ant application after a scan would need this to be added into the code. You can't do this with a batch file as my app isn't a 'proper' command line app and can't easily return the number of orphans imported (otherwise your batch file could check the return value and only launch Ant if it's > 0) Not sure if I'll have time to put this in though, as it's a fairly unusual requirement! Keep an eye on this thread and I'll post next time I compile a release - this may be easier than I think so I'll have a tinker and see how it goes.

    Cheers,

    OrionHall.

Another thing: would be great if AMCu could add the "added date" of the film to the xml.I know you can do this with ANT, but it is not done automatically, you have to mark the checkbox in all the imported films

That one I can certainly do sir! Not a field I've ever used, but it makes sense to populate it when importing. It's on my to-do list now.

    New version coming soon...

    Hi all,

I've been working through the bug list and feature requests and the next version is due soon.

Here's the main change list so far:

Bug - incorrect use of an Int instead of a Long data type caused a crash scanning very large files. Fixed. Actually, I never managed to replicate the crash - only the fact that it didn't import the invalid (too large) values. So hopefully this is really fixed! I've tested with a 6GB .ts file (HD1080) and no problems so far.
Bug - minor tab index glitches. Fixed.
Bug - 'Apply defaults to main window' option did not copy the override path value. Fixed.
Enhancement - added the option to launch a file or program after scanning, so you can run Ant automatically if you like. Also includes the option to only run the file if orphaned files were found when scanning.
Enhancement - files added to the Ant catalog now include the 'Date Added' field.
Enhancement - the 'Purge Database Entries for Missing Files' option now works from the command line. Use with caution!

I think that's it for this time. Let me know asap if there's anything I've missed so I can get it into this release.

    Cheerio,

    OrionHall.
