don't want to sound like a noob but how do i actually install this plug-in, i have noticed that it isn't as simple as copy it into the plugins directory, so what is the process, i have searched the whole forum for a couple of hours now.
step1: you put the autostart.dll into the ...\plugins\process directory
step 2: you go the MP setup in the plugins section. There you have to activate and configure Autostart
That's it!
By the way:
I have a development partner now. We (mainly HE) managed to get rid of the "recorder busy" error. With some luck I will put a new version on the downlod site this weekend.
I have jake78 as Co-Author now - he fixed the "recorer busy"-error (So I am the Co-Author as he did the work  ...)
:!: :!: :!: And there is an important new option: "Start after Resume" :!: :!: :!:
So now you can start fullscreen TV (or other media) also after resuming from standby! (unfortunately some of us [the authors included] are having the "MP hangs after resume from standby"-error which first has to be fixed in order to take advantage of that option. )
I think no. At least not without a redesign of the architecture .
Autostart is using the command queue of MP. It fires the command "do_this_or_that" into the queue and is done. There is no direct control of what is happening then.
I have a feature request that wouldn't be too hard to do I think?
I have a problem where Monday through Friday a channel here (ABC) plays kids shows in the morning. This is great as I have set the PC to boot automatically and play kids shows. This keeps the little kids happy until I get out of bed, a few minutes after them.
However on Saturday & Sunday the same channel plays music videos. As you'd know, some music videos are very sexually orientated.
I don't mind them for myself but they are a bit much for little kids, plus the kids get bored with some of the tracks.
My feature request is simple: the ability to choose different channels for different days of the week.
Note: I have actually written a VB script that runs at startup and changes the channel (in Mediaportal.xml) to whatever I want, based on the day of the week.
So I don't need this feature request but it would be neater if the plugin did this itself.
BTW. If anyone wishes a copy of this script in the meantime, I am happy to send it to them.
Great plugin by the way!
I could try and implement this feature request myself if you could send me the source code, please? :?:
