My Video - not working (last played video not playing or any video at all).

I'm not sure what to do with the My Video option. How would you expect it to behave and what sort of options would you like?

I'm adding a seperate CD/DVD option that will hopefully play any CD/DVD that is in the specified drive (audio or video). Unfortunately I don't have every format of disc available, so I will need you to do some testing for me.

In theory I should be able to get it to do anything within MP at startup. So are there any other options on your wish lists ?

Well there is a new version out :roll:

You can now specify your own channel for the TV switching.

The CD/DVD option should play most media type (audio and video).

The Autoplay checkbox will enable MP to autoplay more types of media when they are inserted (it now plays my CD with a .avi file when inserted).

Let me know how it goes.

Now I have a question or feature request:
Is it possible that MP detects whether a CD or DVD is inserted at startup? If so, it would be great if it could autoplay (or at least ask for it) instead of the preset autostart option.

I hope you understand what I mean.

Glad you like it. I'm not quite sure what you mean. I thought MP already had functionality to autoplay CDs and DVDs at startup (at least mine seems to do this).

What do you mean by the 'preset autostart option' ? Do you mean the checkbox in the plugin config screen ?

Okay, I try to explain it otherwise:

I've inserted a DVD when I boot my computer.
MP starts and detects that the DVD is in.
It asks whether I want to start it or starts it itself (maybe this could be set in config) and overruns the settings in the MyBackgroundTV-plugin (or how we call it now...).

Isn't this the "Autoplay DVDs" checkbox in the DVD section of the Configuration program ?

The Autoplay on in my plugin only works for things not picked up by other parts of MP (at least that's what is meant to happen).

So are you having problems with my plugin autostarting things it shouldn't, or is it not starting something that you think it should ? Exactly what is on your CD/DVD. Some of the code for detecting the type of disc is a bit complicated.

I thing when selecting my videos or audio, i would like to browse my computer and select the mp3 or avi file i want.

But the best way is to have an option that says "play last thing i was doing"

So:
- if i was watching tv in channel 5 it will start MP there
- if i was watching a video then it will start there at same minutes
- if i was listen to mp3 then...
- if i was viewing pictures then...

i call it the resume option for the last thing MP has done when i exit!

thats my wish lists!

I tried it now and I was right. MP doesn't start the DVD at startup when I select MyTV in MyBackgroundTV...

I think we could handle this with priorities. For example I set "autostart DVD" as first choice and if no DVD is in then MP starts the one with second highest priority (e.g. TV) - just like you can set in BIOS whether to boot from CD or HD.

Very useful plug-in, my thanks to the author.

What happens if I set the delay really low like 0 seconds or 1 second? Will this interfere with scheduled recordings? Anyone have any experience good or bad with low or nil delay?

One last comment, I originally downloaded this plug-in (from the link on the first page of this thrread) and could not get it to work at all. Later I returned to this thread and noticed another more recent download link and re-installed the newer dll - that worked perfectly!!
