I believe the fanart on the home page is handled by BasicHome.FanartHandler.xml set all the x coordinates to -500 or something like that and you might get the effect you are looking for.

And what is if the main part of the backdrop is on the left?

How about a very (very) slow animation, scrolling & maybe zooming the fanart? A little like the Ken Burns effects?

Are you able to reproduce the issue reported here.

Steps to reproduce

1. tv on homescreen,
2. navigate right to recording
3. play recording, now hit i on remote, no information shown about recorded program, just blank.

Works fine if same recording\s accessed from recorded screen!!

Also no problems if using same test for tvseries and movingpictures.

Is this related some how to any ftr skin files, I would not have thought so.

Can no one else reproduce this!!

I have been experimenting with some animations. I added the following:

<animation effect="slide" end="-490,0" time="200000" delay="10" condition="true" tween="sine" easing="inout" pulse="true" reversible="false">conditional</animation>    <texture>#fanarthandler.music.scraper.backdrop1.any</texture>
<animation effect="zoom" end="110,110" center="680,330" time="160000" delay="10" condition="true" tween="sine" easing="inout" pulse="true" reversible="false">conditional</animation>

But the image "grew" out of bounds. So it would need some extra clipping (the mask grows with the image, so I guess we need an overlay image with alpha for the "cut-out"). That is beyond my simple skills, so as you liked the idea I do hope to see some of it in future AValon releases

P.S.: Strange enough I found quite some music fan art that looked better just seeing the left part than seeing the right part...
