Hi,
alanmoore, if it's a MCE clone it should work fine with latest MP or it should be possible to make it work(just some id needed)....

Regards
Roy

I hope you're right and it works out of the box with the newer versions of MP. However, I don't understand what you mean by "just some id needed".

Thank you.

    Hi,
If it's a MCE clone(like a bunch of other companies have) & uses the drivers provided from MS, there only a slight difference in the id for the different versions of the clone. If it doesn't work & we add that id it will work.. But it has to be as topic on this thread says a clone ;)

    Thank you for your response.

    In general:
Try disabling "General HID" under setup-> remote

I've always had the "general HID" option disabled.

Are you using IR server suite?

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "IR server suite".

I've avoided the problem by doing the following, It's not the ideal solution and i'ts actually a bit tough to setup, but it's the only way it worked for me. In the setup->remote menu I didn't choose the X10 remote, but the Windows MCE remote. That's because by doing that the "double click" issue disappeared. The problem is that this Toshiba remote is not really a Windows MCE remote, so the only buttons that work well if we choose that option are the direction buttons. To setup the rest of the buttons I had to use Girder. That's how I could use the play/pause, stop, full screen, etc. functions with my remote. As you can see, it's not a good solution, but it's the only one I could think of.

I haven't actually upgraded to the MP 0.2.3 version, so I don't know if the double click problem has been solved in the new version or not. Maybe some of you can give me an answer about it.

    Thanks.

Thanks Alanmoore will give this a try when it works like this i will be very glad :D

This Toshiba is a MCE remote but because it is OEM and x10 i think the mapping is a bit of for Media-portal..

ok finally i had same time to catchup, so far my best response was using the HID device almost all buttons worked instantly without double-clicks.

Seems every machine has his own issues with the same remote.

    I've ONE SOLUTION for that.

I've the same remote control and same isues. For me the solution was to assign an unused function to the arrows.
Let me explain. Use the x10 learn option and assign to up, down, left and right an unused function. That´s all!!!

If you are more advanced user, you can delete thouse options in the Other X10.XML file (in ImputdeviceMappings\Custom folder). I also deleted the numbers options, as they already work in MP without selecting any remote option.

    I hope this helps

If I learn how, i'll post my XML file.

    Hi,

I had the same Problem. (Win XP)

The solution is to install a other driver. (From Medion)

The site is in german, sorry:

    1. Medion Deutschland - Service - Treiber & Updates

search in the field "Oder benutzen Sie die Volltextsuche" for --> x10 <-- .

    2. then download #

"Fernbedienungs Software Medion X10 PC Fernbedienung Download Details

    Version: 2.0.0.36 - Win 2000/Win ME/Win XP - 18.11.2003"

    3. then remove the old toshiba driver (It's very buggy):

    I. Go to system-control-panel -> software and deinstall "x10......"
    II. delete "x10ufx2.sys", "x10hid.sys" and "x10ufx2.sys" from "C:\Windows\system32\drivers"
    III. Restart
IV. Then navigate to device-manager and deinstall all Devices with a "!"

    4. Now you can install the Medion Driver -> start "x10setupnovideo.exe" from the download and test the remote-devive with "eventview.exe".

It will work. I searched about 16 hours to find it (registry, google, device-manager, windows-folder).
The problem is the buggy driver from toshiba.

excuse my english, i don't write it often.

thanks for the help, i did a clean install today with xp s3 and MP final using these drivers, i now find myself clicking everything twice to get 1 action, does this sound familiar ?

update: after installing the original drivers and setting remote everything works fine.
After making a custom x10.xml for the info button all functions work 100%.

Seems the medion driver is MP only and not windows while the toshiba driver is windows GUI only and therefore not all functions work, combining the 2 does work.
