wow.. this one is driving me nuts!

single computer acting as server and client
2 colossus cards, 2 Directv stb's

everything is working ok when the shows are on different channels, but when they are on the same station the 2nd recording stops at exactly 4 minutes.
that is also the same spot in the show that the first one ends (4 minutes after the first episode ends)
so the 2nd episode shows a minute or 2 of the end of the first and a couple minutes of the 2nd and bam... 4 minutes it stops..

I have been using History to test..
record "Pawn Stars" (30 minute show)
the first recording is around 34 minutes because of a 2 minute before and 2 minute after buffer
the 2nd one... EXACTLY 4 minutes long..

it has to be something simple I am missing..

any suggestions?

Sorry for the long delay
Since I am able to repeat the error easily, should I clear all the logs and make it mess up, then post that log?
And.... How would I go about doing that?[DOUBLEPOST=1392520607][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, forgot to mention, I did the 1.6 upgrade and the problem remains the same

It would be fine to export full log files as long as the zip file is not too big. If you want, you can clear the logs by:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory".
    3. Delete all the files you find there.

If you're going to do that, please restart the TV service after doing it. That's just to make sure I get all the information I need.

And.... How would I go about doing that?
As above. Not necessary, but instructions provided.

    Okay.

    thanks!

    Hi Jeff

First, could you please disable the DVB EPG grabber. It is giving your ATSC tuners an unnecessary workout and makes the logs longer and harder to read.
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...figuration/TV-Server_Configuration/05_DVB_EPG

Untick idle and timeshifting EPG grabbers.

    Now to the actual problem...
    First recording starts:
[2014-02-22 19:00:13,490] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 269 HSTRYHD 7:00 PM-7:30 PM Pawn Stars
    ...
[2014-02-22 19:00:17,440] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - card: WaitForFile - video and audio are seen after 2.7551575 seconds

    Second recording starts:
[2014-02-22 19:28:04,440] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 269 HSTRYHD 7:28 PM-8:00 PM Pawn Stars
    ...
[2014-02-22 19:28:05,356] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - card: WaitForFile - video and audio are seen after 0.0220013 seconds

    First recording stops:
    [2014-02-22 19:32:06,904] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: stop record 269 HSTRYHD 2/22/2014 7:00:17 PM-2/22/2014 7:30:00 PM Pawn Stars
    ...
    [2014-02-22 19:32:06,907] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - tvcard:FreeSubChannel : subchannels STILL present 2, continuing graph

Note the time: 4 minutes after the second recording starts. Not a coincidence. I'll come back to this. In any case, TV Server knows you've got the other recording still which is why it says "continuing graph".

    Second recording stops:
    [2014-02-22 20:02:13,664] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: stop record 269 HSTRYHD 2/22/2014 7:28:05 PM-2/22/2014 8:00:00 PM Pawn Stars
    ...
    [2014-02-22 20:02:13,666] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - tvcard:FreeSubChannel : no subchannels present, pausing graph

So TV Server thinks it recorded the second show correctly.

    What is wrong here?
I think the culprit is the DirecTV SHEF plugin. When the first recording finishes:
    [2014-02-22 19:32:06,955] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [DEBUG] - DirecTV_SHEF - DirecTV_SHEF_OnTvServerEvent(): Power off receiver - Card Id = 12

That would kill your second recording very nicely. I think disabling the "power receivers on and off as required" option might need to be unticked, as clearly it is not correctly tracking when it is safe to send the power-off command.
