Hi there,

i´m using web media portal for streaming my shows.
Everything works fine except video is stuttering even on ultra low quality.

I find out that streaming upload is only using ca. 1Mbps .......... i have 5Mbps avaible ( which should be enough for medium quality settings).

So why is streaming limited to that 1Mbps?

I checked CPU load:
~20%

I check on different places:
Evertime stuttering

Playing in local Lan it works perfect.

Is it a problem during the encoding ?

Maybe some give me a hint how to find the cause of the problem? Maybe i have to enable realtime encoding at some point?

How can you be sure that MPExt. is not delivering all that is available? Is 5Mbps the theoretical max for your subscription or have you measured?

    Measured!

I´m using OpenVPN tunnel to connect inside my home lan.
Uploading something, i.e. via FTP, i´m reaching bandwidth ~600kbyte/s what equals 5Mbits

Another indicator is that i can stream netflix HD movie over this tunel without any stuttering or delay.
Another indicator is my fritzbox, which displays the upload in a trend view..........

It´s not my ISP.............. unfortunately i´m out of ideas.........

Is it the same if you stream to aMPDroid or MediaPortal iViewer? That is if you have Android unit or IPad...

Android is playing without any problems.
Its only the browser playback which make problems.

In the pictures you see upload to android. Please notice that peak for filling the buffer when playing starts.
    and_ffmpeg_hq.jpg

In the other picture you see PC playback. The upload is totaly flat. So i think its limited.
    pc_flash_hd.jpg

    Android Playback: FFMPEG HQ
    PC Playback: Flash HD

    Android without any stuttering,
    PC stuttering every 2 seconds.

EDIT: Maybe it could be a codec related problem?

Could it be some IIS bandwidth limit? also I have been advised before to try turning off tcp chimney off-load and update network drivers to latest to see if that makes any difference.

I think IIS Express limits etc.. are done in a config file. But thinking about this I don't think any bandwidth limits are being applied as you said streaming was fine from your LAN. hmmmm back to the drawing board.
