Correct, but that doesn't change the fact that Titan Extended isn't officially maintained/supported anymore. Best way to get the backgrounds to work is to use the solution posted here:

Titan Skin is our default skin. It's up to the developers of Titan TNC (or any other skin) to decide when (and if) they want to release to our community.

Is there a workaround for the editor in newer versions of mediaportal? A common restart nuked my mediaportal setup and now my editor is unable to launch upon reinstall. I've been able to edit it in 1.6; upgrade to 1.10 and the editor breaks; both with shortcut and in mepo setup.... however my config does not carry to 1.10.

    Thanks

Please read my post above yours and follow the link for the solution.

If that's somehow not working for you and it's your Titan Extended settings you want back, you could see if you have a backup folder after the upgrade. You should be able to find 1 (if 1 is made) in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal. It's a folder and it should look something like 'MediaPortal_BACKUP_10-25_10-20'.
If you have that folder, open it and navigate to the \Skin\Titan folder, copy the entire Themes folder and paste that in your C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Skin\Titan folder and overwrite the files.

I tried to use the TitanEditor to create a Weather button on my homescreen. It didn't work as intended, and I've been unable to get my homescreen back the way it was. The buttons for plugins like MP-TVSeries and Moving Pictures are gone and the Settings button is now double high. I have full backups of everything on a day-by-day basis on my WHS2011 server, so I replaced Titan.xml and later, Mediaportal.xml with versions from the previous day but neither resulted in my Titan homescreen returning to "normal". Anybody know what files I should grab from backups to get things back to a pre-edit state? BTW, the .bak files in the same folder as the above .xml files were the first thing I tried before going to my Windows Home Server versions...

kiwijunglist - Thanks for pointing me to the Titan skin directory! I checked the dates on the many .xml files there, and the only one that had changed was skinsettings.xml (for which there was also a .bak file). I restored that file only from my server and voilà, my homescreen was restored! I would have been able to just use the .bak file, if I had known about it and had done so before making multiple other changes to the homescreen.

    I appreciate the help.

I'm unclear on whether the Titan Basic Editor is at all functional. When I run the editor, the menu data it shows is not representative of the current state of my Titan Basic Homescreen. When I attempted to make some changes a few months ago, my homescreen changed quite a bit. The buttons for all of my installed plugins disappeared and the settings button became larger and more square. If I understand the setup, it appears to me that the editor works only with two "themes", "Extended One" (aka "Basic" - which is two rows of icons) and "Extended Two" (aka "Extended" - which is a single row of icons)? Currently I'm using the "default" (not shown in the editor) theme which includes all of my plugin buttons. Perhaps I just need to copy some of the .xml files from the skin\Titan folder to skin\Titan\Themes\Extended One, in order to have my current homescreen as the starting point for my edits? On top of the somewhat confusing mix of terminology above (to me anyway!), I'm also using the "Titan Extended" plugin, which I thought just gave me the skin files for some of my plugins, but perhaps there's more to it.

Anyhow, if anyone knows whether the editor should work with 1.12.0 I'd love to know. Also, if my understanding of how the pieces fit together is off -- please straighten me out!

The editor definitely works with 1.12. Not sure why you're focussing on having your current homescreen as the starting point though. Go into the editor, select one of the two proferred styles, then on the basichome menu tab, select some modules into the Main Menu list; those modules will be the ones that show up on your basic home - simples! I haven't followed your previous posts in the thread though, so maybe your starting point is somewhere else.
