Having some problems with stutter when watching Live TV (DVB-C) Codec is PDVD9 (audio FFDShow). It doesen't happen on all channels, it's not all the time and not at a regular basis.

Have found that it often gets worse after pausing TV. I don't know the reason for this, but thinking it may be caused by the timeshift folder, or maybe the tswriter file..??

So where do you guys (and girls?) put your timeshift folder, I have it on my media disk (separate OS disk). Is it possible to put it on a thumbdrive? Any recomandations?

All other video works and playback is smooth.

AW: Best location for timeshift folder? Problem with stutter.

i've put it on a seperate empty partition (15 Gigs) so that fragmentation is avoided, but it's still on the systems disk.

Put it in a ramdisk, so timeshifting don't use the harddisk.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Also, if I jump back e.g. 15 sec the picture gets smooth again.. Any Ideas/tips

Would it help putting it on a USB HD?

My system is working really well with timeshift on a 4GB USB flash stick. Works perfectly for me for DVB-S SD and HD. Other people have said it doesn't work, but I've had no problems with it (nearly two years now on the same cheap stick). For some reason it seems to work better with the stick formatted NTFS - when it was FAT it did have some stuttering (no idea why).
