Hey folks,

I've completed an early beta of the my programs/emulators plugin and I need some people to find the bugs I'm sure it has.

To install it all you have to do is unzip the plugin to the MediaPortal directory.

The plugin can be found here: http://www.jennandbarr.com/beta_june15.zip

KNOWN BUGS:

-project64 emulator does not work
-You have to restart MP to change the plugin settings
-No support for default images
-Scan button does nothing
-Various skin problems
-.png images not supported
-files and images have to be %100 identical (with exception of the extension)
-Duplicate emulators showing up in certian cases
-No way to start applications (or shortcuts in the case of the start menu)

it seems, my reply two hours ago has been lost while importing the old forum posts.

never mind. i promised to test the plugin, but i could do that only in part.

I unzipped the files to the right folders. I have the new menue with "Anwendungen" (my programs).
But I cannot choose it. Neither with mouse, nor with arrow keys and enter.
switching button with arrow keys leads to the effect that my radio and my programs are highlighted at the same time. Enter leads to my radio submenu. I looked at the home.xml you supplied (although I don´t understand anything about .xml). Both sections are addressed with id=6.
Can you check this please? Or have I missed something?

And where do I set the emulator? In the setup there is no new item? Is it in the submenue I did not come to, yet?

Can you check that the GUIPrograms.dll is in the MediaPortal/plugins/windows directory. The way to set up the emulator is through the tools->plugins menu. The portion of the home.xml that you have to worry about is the hyperlink portion.

The GuiPrograms.dll is there. Where is the tools->plugins menu. Is that in the setup screens you call with F2? Had no such menu.
    Mediaportal version is 06-12-2004.
Will only be at home this evening again.

Maybe someone else gives your beta a try and can state if it works for him so far.

<LarryHm> Hey domi_fan, configured for mplayer2.exe in XP, opens it okay
[01:15] <LarryHm> but get error message about not able to open file or type?
    [01:16] <LarryHm> I think I just didn't configure properly,
[01:16] <LarryHm> whats the config dialog box required inputs?
[01:22] <domifan> does the my programs screen come up with a list of the mp3s?
[01:25] <LarryHm> No listing as such, just a menu return bar only....
[01:25] <LarryHm> you know, the double dots ..
[01:26] <LarryHm> So, from home page, click on my programs
[01:26] <LarryHm> Then second menu with view, sort, scan, and and empty file list..
[01:26] <LarryHm> click on double dots in file list
[01:27] <LarryHm> Mplayer starts, the error dialog that Mplayer cannot find path/filename
[01:27] <LarryHm> Close error dialog, goto Mplayer file open,
[01:28] <LarryHm> browse track, [wav] file plays normally...
    [01:28] <LarryHm> That's about it...

In the config tab, what do you have as the extensions? it should be ".wav"

the menu should be under the tools menu, you'll only be able to access this in the windowed mode (you can't see the menu in fullscreen). Can you tell me if you see the plugin in the list of plugins.

I tried it witch some emulators i have.
It was working very well with the gameboyadvanced emulator.
But it failed with the project64 emulator. It couldn't open the roms directly.
