Is it correct that there is no option for setting bitrate settings in the tvserver? I don't know if the old quality control in mediaportal was hauppauge-pvr only or if it worked for other analog cards, but now I can't find it.

It seems to record to the default settings, which seem to be 384kbit-48khz audio, 720x576 4mbit cbr video stream, open GOP. With analog recording and a noisy source, the 4mbit is to low. Can somebody recommend me a way to change that?

I tried stopping the tvservice, starting hauppauge tweaker and making some settings, and then starting the tvserver again, but it resets all the settings back to the boot defaults (even sharpness wich seems to be stuck at setting '5', almost at max! This seems too high).

If not, is there a plan to bring the old quality control (or something like that) back to PVR cards?

nevermind, I tried the stop-tweak-start thing again and it seems to have worked this time... dgindex is at least showing 7.7mbps most of the time now. Must have done something wrong the first try.
