Don't know if it's possible, but is there an option to add a restart mediaport option to the reboot/shutdown/sleep menu? A link to restartmediaportal.vbs (or whatever it's called) for instance. Sometime moving pictures or mptv series is erratic (probably due to the cache overflowing or something) and I need to restart mediaportal. One option is to get out of my seat and restart mp with the keyboard, the other (now) is to restart my htpc with my remote. Would be cool to be able to only restart mediaportal with the remote

I already have the restart option in the shutdown menu! Use the top left button (shutdown) in basic home.

Yes, but this restarts the whole PC. (which takes a whopping 60 seconds or something ). I mean just a restart of the application mediaportal. Like the option restart mediaportal after resuming from standby. This is done by restartmediaportal.vbs (or at least I think that's what it's called) located in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal. Is it possible to enter an extra option in the basic home which triggers this script?

I have the same problems mostly after resume from standby, Don`t no why, but wheen I restart MP everything is fine again. I use the mp standby handler.
Otherwhise you could use the multi shortcut plugin, which executes any programm or batch via MP menu.
