Black Glass Skin 2.1.1 (1 Viewer)

The skin is developed on Vista with Mediaportal 1.0.2 and tested on XP, Vista and Seven.
I'm testing it on Mediaportal 1.1 beta and it works well.
The resolution is 1280x720 and scales well to full HD.

Black Glass skin is designed to be easy to use and has a simple and clear look.
It should be controlled primarily with a remote or a keyboard.

BasicHome screen should be used as default home page.

The skin has been developed using Theatre as layout inspiration and Blue3Wide as codebase, so unsupported plugins should work with Bluewide plugin skin files (apart from some graphical anomalies).

TV-Guide bug?

Hi,

thanx again for the next update, much appreciated. You made the TV-Guide new, here is my feedback to this:

1. there is 1 row too much on the bottom on my screen (with 8-row version, actually it has 9, why?), see screenshot

2. at the older version the current program was more contrasting (dark background - white text) and the not active (past and coming) programs were less (grey background - grey text). This combo was better in my opinion (mostly I want o check out wha is running, not what comes), more logical.

That´s not quite right. This is not a 720p video but 544p, see screenshot The black horizontal bars are cropped away of 720p (or anamorph encoded?). The definition of HD is based on the vertical resolution, not on the horizonal. A normal SD has even 576 vertical!

I guess that´s the reason.

Yes, it was by 2.1.0 version too. There is small mistake in the tvguide.xml. And because Tgx is out of home I have honour to attach little patch for impatients... You can change attached file mytvguide.xml into skin directory Black Glass. There is only one change - height of TV Guide Panel (old was 387, new is 344). And you must restart MediaPortal after performed change of course.

That is what i thougt in the first place, yet in Moving Pictures for example the same vertical resolution is marked as HD 720p.
But never mind - i like the skin the way it is.

interesting. that is a smarter plugin, looks like (I can only guess that moving pictures takes the horizontal resolution = 1280 in account and my tv series the vertical = 544).

EDIT:

I think i've found a better approach for tvguide. Instead of using a combination of lines for building the fixed grill ontop of the guide, i'll try to embed the lines in the backgrounds of the single program items. Doing in this way, i'll fix the issues with overlapping lines and program items found when using different screen resolutions.
