    Sorry I missed the comment about the security update in the first post. That's highly embarrassing! :oops:

    What I don't get is why uninstalling MP (complete clean-up) didn't remove the firewall rules (I assume that is what happened), and why the installer didn't re-instate the rules with correct settings.

    I am guessing that a security update installed by MS was responsible for messing up the rules in the first place.
    I tend to avoid security software as far as possible, so I'm not an expert on this stuff. Sometimes responsibility for configuration and changes seems to slip between 3rd party security software, the MP installer, Windows, and the Windows Firewall. That's why I recommended to check your security software configuration in my first response. Anyhow, I'm glad the problem is solved now. :)
