After having installed TV Server with V0.2.0.0 and Latest SVN I have been able to use the Manual Control within SetupTV to record and timeshift - I know this since .ts files have been created within the recording directory. I figure this means that the TV Server service is working correctly.

Further, I have installed the TV plug-in and so when running MP the new TV plug in is there - I know this since I had removed all channels in the old TV setup and yet they were back grouped according to my setup in SetupTV. The problem occurs when I try to actually view TV. I get a black screen only. I can hit record, and it works (confirmed in the same way as above) but no visual or audio feedback.

I am running the server and MP on the same machine. Do I need to configure ports/firewalls etc when running locally? Do I need to configure codecs or is this uneccesary since it is using the transport stream (TS) format?

Thanks

i believe if you are running locally you dont' need to worry about ports or firewalls, so if its on teh same machine then you should just need to go into the config and try playing with the video and audio codecs. Perhaps none are listed in there? try with mpv and mpa and see how that goes?

I have almost same problem. But I do get picture 3fps and stuttering sound, Jitter way over 300. But no high processor/disk load. Tried every codec I have.. However it worked for me with the early versions before it went SVN. Also for me the .ts file is OK and viewable with good pic & sound.

Whooaaa, Tested now with SVN 11389,
Perfect picture & sound. Fast zapping.
Crashes after a few zappes but that's another story... ;-)
Great work MP crew!
