Black screen when timeshifting (1 Viewer)

Well i don't believe it's anything to do with file permissions or the firewall after some playing around tonight.

Can anyone please help??!

As this is not "normal", it is being caused by something specific to your machine.
Could be another program causing this behaviour of black screen.
Look at any program that changes window filetypes to be there own, ie Quicktime, Realplayer, Nero etc and either uninstall, or change to WMP defaults.
I know you must be getting desperate for answer to this one.

Thanks PD, i will look at what programs i've installed recently. There's certainly been a few since the time when timeshifting actually worked on my machine (Realplayer being one of them).

My only question at this point is what type of file is a .TV extension? Never heard of it before and thought it was so specific to MP that no other program could interfere with it?

anyone of you using vobsub?
if yes, uninstall it. some versions cause graph building issues when timeshift is enabled.

anyone of you using codecpacks?

if none of the above is on your system:
- attach a screenshot of graphedit with the graph when timeshifting enabled
- also attach all logs of such an back screen when turing Timeshift on

Still doesn't work - Graph data attached....

Hi - i don't have any codecpacks or vobsub installed. I captured the graph both with and without Timeshifting on - would be very grateful if someone could look at the graphs and hopefully figure out what the problem is......

PS. I couldn't fit the graphs into one screenshot so there's two pictures per graph (majorly cropped!)

have you tried changing the audio renderer under options -> tv -> audio renderer.

Sorry for sounding stupid but do you know what this actually means and what is the likely cause(s)?

Just to re-emphasise that recorded programs play back fine (and timeshifting is obviously on). I just get a black screen and no audio whilst the recording is taking place!

Do the graphedit screenshots i attached give any clues?
