Blank screen in exclusive mode (1 Viewer)

That is what I had to do to get it to work on my set up was to uncheck exclusive directx fullscreen. I don't have a tv hard in mine, I use it to watch dvd's, listen to mp3, and watch canned video in xvid format.

I have a radeon 9600 with 128MB of ram as my graphics card too. What does excluse directx in fullscreen get you anyway and what do you lose by not using it?
