    PowerDVD 8 doesnt work so well with MCE Remotes (and thus Harmony Remotes). Supposedly 7 worked better.

    I read that maybe this could be a good way to get PowerDVD 8 and the remote working nicely: EventGhost:About - EventGhost

    Havent had time yet. The Play/Pause and Stop buttons work, so its useable. I find that Menu launches MP (I guess this is as I have MP Tray running?)

    Also, sometimes, when launching PDVD with this plugin I get an warning from MP that its switching to a software rasterizer - anyone else get that? When it happens i have to manually close MP. Im thinking mayb the delay between minimizing MP and opening PowerDVD is maybe a bit short?

    PowerDVD Remote problem

    Hi,

    MoPhat: thanx for the great plugin, it works super for me.

    But:
    I use MP, HD-Starter Plugin, PDVD7, Antec Fusion case with iMon IR Receiver with iMon software with a MCE remote control. The MP and PowerDVD keyboard shortcuts are mapped to the RC buttons in iMon Manager. Everything works fine besides:

    I can map "H" for PDVD to toggle available audio streams playing Bluray to a MCE RC button but it does not toggle audio. Instead a context menü comes up. This happens only with PDVD started from MP. If I start PDVD manually, audio stream toggle works fine. Subtitle toggle with "U" works always fine. I tried PDVD8 before, I did not have this weird issue with it (abandoned because of lack of HDDVD and annoying resume nag screen).

    I assume this is a problem of an active "HD_STARTER" in the tray. I guess it tries to send / translate MP control imputs for PDVD. But I don´t need this, iMon takes care of it already. Anyone an idea? Help/comments appreciated.

    Edit:
    I found the solution. I edited the hd_starter source code, deleted all the shortcut translation stuff at the end and recomplied it. This did the trick. For Antec and iMon users this can be very useful. If someone wants the modified hd_starter.exe, just ask.

    Edit:
    I attached this edited HD-Starter.exe file (source from post Nr. 1 of this thread, remote translation section simply removed and new compiled) for other iMon users.

    Okay, people have provided a PDVD8 version (I downloaded 3 so far) but none of them seem to get the back button to exit.

    I finally gave in, downloaded the source, but couldn't figure out how the back button was mapped... Assuming that change was already in the source supplied, I changed the path to pdvd8 and recompiled.. but my virus scanner is picking up the .upx files while they're being made, and deleting them right away...

    Not trusting this program anymore, does someone have a working HD_Starter.exe for PDVD8 *and* back button to exit (for MCE remotes)...???

    Works for me with PDVD8. The Back button is actually "Clear".

    Yep I get that problem as well, seems a bit random though.

    I might take a look at it when I have some free time. I may just edit the script so it quits MP. Id rather wait a few seconds to quit and relaunch than have a window dialog box popup and have to go fetch a mouse and KB!

    Really? My logs show that it's actually 'back'..

    Code:
    2008-08-20 02:07:21.218750 [Info.][6]: MCE: Incoming button command: Back

    Yep, works fine here for me using PDVD8 and an MCE remote

    Which one did you use? Can you link to it please? (binary, preferably)

    Thanks!

    Could someone publish the sourcecode for exit by back key on remote control?
    There is a hd_starter with back key support although, but it's a compiled version only.
    But I want to create a modified version of hd_starter with back key support.

    Following didn't work:
    Code:
    [B]back[/B]::{Escape}
    return

    I received the following error:
    Code:
    Error at Line xx
    Line Text: back::{Escape}
    Error:Invalid Hotkey
    The Program will exit

    I also tried key 166.

    Thank you!

    Hi all together!

    I just want to say thank you to you all, especially to MoPhat for this wonderful solution to play Blu-Ray Discs and the help to get it working!!

    After several problems (most of them causing my Hauppauge Remote) the solution now works fine on my Media Center.
    My last problem I had was to get back from PowerDVD to MediaPortal. The Back-Button on my Remote just wont work, I tried to recompile the HD_Starter Script from Escape to Backspace but no way. Only on my Keyboard it worked. Now with my new Auvisio Remote the Backspace Implementation works and Iam very happy now.

    So in conclusion I only can say Thank you for the help and good luck for all of you who still have problems! Dont hesitate to contact me if anyone has a question.

    Greetings!
