Blu-Ray / HD-DVD Player with PowerDVD (a working solution) (2 Viewers)

Well, I passed PC World (yeah I know, I know!) on my cycle ride and picked up a ATI HD 3450, and "accidentally" ordered a LG Blu-Ray drive for the PC from amazon - £70 - not too bad.

So hopefully PowerDVD 8 works well and plays back all my Blu-Ray disks!

Should arrive on Tuesday, so we shall see... Thanks for the great plug-in!

I do not see HD Starter plugin in my configuration where to find it?

Open MP config and goto Plugins, it will be listed in the last section, then right click and choose configure and you can set your paths from there.

Is there any issue using this with Winxp sp3? I have installed hd_starter as per the instructions in my RC2 install. When i try and run dllfix in the plugins \windows directory, it errors with "dllfix has encountered a problem. Sorry for the inconvenience". No errors are reported in event log. When i try and run the hd_starter plugin from the MP menu, it reports that it cant find hd_starter.exe even though i can see it in Windows Explorer.

Worked fine for me on XP SP3 and RC2. So not that!

Hi all, Thanks 4 this great Plugin !!

Ive got a small issue:
When i fire up my PDVD in MP it works well.. but quitting it with the green button on remote just closes PDVD..
My Mediaportal stays in Background because HD_Starter.exe is still loaded.
manually quitting HD_Starter.exe causes immediately switching back to MP ..
thats what should be the right function or not ?

Try pressing the Exit or Clear button, not the Green button.

Blue Ray ISO mit HD Starter Methode abspielen

Benutze auf meinen Media Center PC Media Slayer (aus Media Slayer können DVD´s direct über DVD Decrypter als ISO auf der Festplatte erzeugt werden) und mit Hilfe der Daemon Tools abgespielt werden. Möglich ist dieses da sich DVD Decypter über Komandozeilen starten lässt. Das abspielen des von Media Slayer erzeugten Iso erfolgt ganz normal über My Videos.

Für die Blue Ray´s ab zu spielen benutze ich das Plug In Hdd Starter welches Power DVD Ultra in Vollbild startet die Blue Ray abspielt und dabei die Tastatureingaben bzw die Eingaben über die Fernbedienung so umbiegt das dann Power DVD über Mediaportal gesteuert werden kann.

Da die aktuellen Version von Power DVD Ultra ja kein abspielen von der Festplatte ermöglichen ist es aber dennoch möglich auf der Festplatte befindliche Blue Ray über den Umweg eine ISO Datei (Iso Datei kann mit IMGBurn erzeugt werden) ab zu speilen. Isoburn kann auch genau wie DVD Decrypter mit Hilfe von Kommandozeilen gesteuert werden.

Erzeuge ich also ein ISO und rufe dieses aus Mediaportal z.B. My Videos auf (Vorausetzung ist die Installation der Daemon Tools in Mediaportal) öffent sich Power DVD Ultra im Hintergrund und spielt es ab.

Aus den beiden Methoden wie Media Slayer (erstellen eines Iso mitteln Komandozeilen) und HD Starter abspielen von Blue Ray via Power DVD sollte es doch möglich sein HD Starter so um zu schreiben das auch Blue Ray Iso abgespielt werden können. Das beste wäre dann noch wenn man Any DVD HD über Kommandozeilen dazu bringen könnte die Blue Ray auf dei Festplatte zu ziehen.

Setzt man dieses um so könnte dann ähnlich wie Media Slayer Blue Ray ´s mit einen Tastendruck als ISO auf die Festplatte gebracht werden und dann mit einem geänderten HD Starter abgespielt werden können.

Vieleicht können die AUtoren von HD Starter und Media Slayer dieses realisieren.

PowerDvd 8

Hi all, PowerDVD V8 doesnt work as standard! You have to change the HD_starter.exe file. I have done this for you and it seems to work

There is that many threads on this Forum topic that i got lost looking for if someone had allready done this!
