Re: AW: Blu-Ray / HD-DVD Player with PowerDVD (a working solution)

Hello Thor2605,
thanks you very much for your anwser. My problem is that I don't know how to map the shortcuts for PowerDVD to the keys on the remote. With the standard installation there is a programm RemoteControl running. In this program I can select some preconfigured keymap files, but not for Mediaportal and PowerDVD. I have tried to modify the preconfigured keymap files, without success. When the RemoteControl program is running, my remote does`t work with Mediaportal. Therefore I have removed the program from the autostart and working without the RemoteControl program. Because of the native FireDTV remote driver in MediaPortal my remote works fine in MediaPortal. How can I map the remote for using with PowerDVD?

I don't know the RemoteControl of FireDTV, but with Autohotkey you have the ability to send another key to the program than you press with your remote...

There you can download the program and there is a really good documentation too!

    Good luck!

    Hi there,

Has anyone fixed the issue with the hover picture looking in the wrong location (this is on a Windows 7x64 box). I think its a multishortcut issue (as opposed to this specific PDVD plugin)??

Also, I am using a Harmony 525 (emulating a MCE) remote to control MP. With this plugin it is configured to use the "Escape" key, is there anyway I can get it to work with the "Prev" or "Exit" button on my remote? (I will need the source for AutoHotKey as my paths are different to the supplied ones).

    Thanks,

    J.

    Hi Thor2605,
thanks you for the link to Autohotkey. I spend some times with this tool but without success. Autohotkey will remap key information from remote controls, if they are working with winlirc (connected via RS232) or as HID (connected via USB). Now I found out that the FireDTV doesn't use a HID for the remote control. The IR receiver is direct at the TV card and the TV card is connected to the PC via Firewire. So Autohotkey can not receive any key information from FireDTV remote. I did already this test by using the HD_Starter, with also is using Autohotkey with key mapping. How can I get the key information from the FireDTV? Mediaport is able to receive the key signals from the FireDTV remote, how is this working?

    @worschti

ich hatte Probleme den Focus auf PDVD zu bekommen. MP poppte dauernd hoch, wenn ich die Fernbedienung benutzte.

How did you solve this? My problem is that after starting PDVD9 I'm able to start the movie with the enter-binding on my remote , but when the menu of the BD-movie shows up, I have to make another mouseklick on PDVD to have the remote working in the menus. Seems like the focus of PDVD gets lost during the startup of the BD :(

    Hi,

you can try to confing HD_Starter to close MP and restart it. (HideMPWhileExecuting = False)

    @ all

I'm using the HD_Starter with the config ini's and i have have the problem, that my remote isn't working. I think that is because HD_Starter is changing the keybort layout (i.e.: M=Q). Anyone have an idea to disable the change of the layout?

    Thanks.

With my x64 the closing of MediaPortal doesn't work...

Is this because of the named process Mediaportal.exe*32?

I am using win7 x64 and in my case the closing of MP works fine with the HideMPWhileExecuting = False option
