per default the "Override Plugin Name in Menu" field is empty.
As soon as i enter "Play BR" the homemenu is working corretly again and displays all 3 top buttons.
So it seems that there is something not working with the default name.

I'll try to remember to fix that at some point.
thanks :)

Thats already fixed in the latest version in svn.

since i am ill (and therefore was forced to stay in bed) i had the whole day to do extensive "testing" of this plugin.

i can now happiely report that eveyrthing is working nicely!

I use this plugin now to play DVD's, BluRay's and HD-DVD's.
Yes you read right, i also play DVD's with it, and the reason is very simple.

    1. the inbuilt menu of Acrsoft player allows me to choose the audiooutput while playing the movie (in my case i select between 2channel stereo and SPDIF). thats a big timesaver if i do not want to use the dolby 5.1 system. now i do not have to change the audiosetup in MP-Configuration anymore.
    2. under WindowsXP the only way to get "all" DVD (menues) to work corretly was to use the navigator, video and audiocodec from PowerDVD 8. but since their last "update" all their filters are hidden from other applications and therefore you can nolonger use it in MP. And i also have 8 DVDs where the meues dont work at all even with PowerDVD...

So, bottom line is that for all kind of DVD/BR/HD-DVD playback, this plugin + Arcsoft is a great solution.

Note: I did not get payed for this post. Seriously :D

I guess there were some utility written for that (some member in our community. I'm sure that I did see such few months ago...

Previously I was using old PDVD7 and it's navigator and codecs under Vista, with no single non-working DVD menu. But at some point the Cyberlink's navigator started to seek constantly around the DVD during playback (making annoying noise) and I tried to switch to the MS DVD Navigator & MPEG2 combo. It has been working without any issues so far. And it still allows the much nicer interface than Arcsofts player can provide.

Ps. You know that at least ArcSoft 2.xx versions have infernal picture quality with DVDs? :p I guess 3.x versions fix that issue (but most likely only on newest NVidia video cards where SimHD is usable).

I guess this starts to get a little bit off topic now :)

Yeah, noticed the nose too. :(

DVD image quality looks the same as i got with Cyberlink.

Dont know if i will continue to use this solution once i switch ton win7 final, but for now you provided a very coll alternative.

is the autoplay function mentioned in the first post already implemented? "Auto play support (possible with MP >1.0.1)"? haven't watched my (only) bd for some time cause of the missing fullhd tv... what is supposed to happen if i put the disc in my drive, should mp give a signal to the arcsoft plugin and this is autoplaying the bd? still have to start the plugin manually...

There was a bug related to bd/hd-dvd autoplay inside mp, that prevented the arcsoft plugin from handling the autoplay correctly. This bug was fixed a while ago. Unfortunately it isn't included in 1.0.2, but I posted a patched Core.dll based on 1.0.2 a while ago (page 25 in this thread). So you could try this one, if you like ;) Another possibility would be to use 1.1.0 alpha.

thanks for the hint with your fixed core.dll. tested it but had no luck with autoplaying the dark knight/batman begins... :( do i have to change any options propably i didn't think of? or could it be related to anydvd which is working in the background?

you use WinXP, so autoplay _can not work_ (unless you have installed some 3rd party software which adds support for windows to read the contets of your BlueRay disc :p )
for WinXP your BR-drive is plain empty.
