I wanted to see how this worked with powerDVD so I snagged the trial version. Turns out it's PowerDVD12. I pointed the 'player executable' to the player itself so the media manager does not open. The problem I am having is that I cannot get powerdvd player to close after hitting the stop button. Sorry for my ignorance but what am I missing? Does anyone have a keyboard shortcut that works as the normal X to close a window is not an option?

I was experimenting with this the other day. if you get EventGhost you can set up a macro for when you press stop to close your player. I also managed to get the skip forward/skip back and menu buttons working with CinePlayer as it doesn't have any proper remote support!

What marco did you setup? I saw earlier in the thread that ixdvc posted the following:

Code:
taskkill /F /IM PowerDVDCinema10.exe

Is that what you ended up doing domb?

OK, figured it out using the code above with Eventghost. Took me a bit to figure it out though because I didn't uncheck 'disable HID...', so it kept disable my MCE remote. Unchecked the option and everything works great.

Kind of...

I setup a macro so that if you hit stop it looks for a window called cineplayer, if its there it closes it. Same thing though more or less. :)

domb,

How did you get yours to work. Mine only works if I run event ghost as administrator, but the service wont start as such when windows starts. A pain to manually run it every time.

With Eventghost you never need a kill command.
Create a new macro.
Put inside to this macro the event triggered when pressing your remotes button.
Create a command "Find window" and select your "PowerDVD".
Create a command "Close window"

That should be all.

But I even don't know why you want to do this. I suppose that there is a button for closing PowerDVD with your remote.
In TotalMediaTheatre it's the "MAIN MENU" or "BACK" button. :)

Thanks for the info I will try it out. I wish the main menu or back button worked in PowerDVD like it does in TMT.

Hi

it looks like this plugin cannot call Totalmedia player with a bluray folder.
I have made own blurays from my camcoder videos and I want to play them in MP. Can this be done with this plugin?
Is there an alterantive solution?
I do not want to make ISOs from the bluray folder structure only to mount them again.

Can this plugin be used to start uMCEPlayer5.exe playing a DVD ripped to a folder on the HDD?

I've tried setting MP Config to "use external player" and put the path to the .exe in the box, but it just launches TMT5 on the main screen, showing my Virtual DVD Drive V: (I don't have any real drives connected at the moment) and there's no way to start playback of the folder from there.
