I am away till Monday and will check issues then.
overworked the Home Screen
For me the caching takes only 4 seconds. I guess you have much more movies, so it takes time to search in the database for the latest according to their import date.By the way. There is a need for some background caching of the home page. If you are navigating to this page the first time in a MP2 session it last very, very long until the content appears. As this may take some minutes! here I earlier thought this would not work at all. If the content would be build in background while the user is looking on other pages this time did not matter that much...
This will be difficult to realize from design point of view. A nice grid view is only possible, if all covers have the same aspect ratio. It would be nice, if the cover is shown completely. If it is landscape oriented it should be looking as now, but if the cover is portrait oriented it should be looking similar to the view in movies, showing the whole cover...
Can you please tell me where I can find the aspect ratio for this screen so I can modify it myself. I only need portrait oriented gfx here, so I want to change this to my personal needs, thanks. There is currently no plan to use flexible aspect ratios. Sorry.
Oh, even when I watch a movie after starting MP2 and then go to Home screen the first time this also lasts up to some minutes... I think I prefer to disable latest media completely if this is so terribly slow.... This makes navigation really hard as you need to navigate "over" the home screen to go to the exit menu. In meantime you can not navigate any further, at least not with remote. And I don't want to wait minutes before I can close MP2...For me the caching takes only 4 seconds. Temporal solution: Using the power button on remote control instead of scrolling until the power buttonOh, even when I watch a movie after starting MP2 and then go to Home screen the first time this also lasts up to some minutes... For long term I would prefer tags for mediafiles (favourite, recently added), so besides home screen the red flag shows the state as already done for "unwatched" mediaitems.
This could possibly reduce the processing time in the background, because tags need only to be updated when a new movies are imported, a movie is watched or set as favourite.
This is a bit weird. If I press the power button my TV switches on or off...Temporal solution: Using the power button on remote control instead of scrolling until the power button
Oh, currently episodes and videos share the same code. This was already the case before I touched the code. Only after MIA update this will be changed So it might be not applicable for you anymore ...But I can live with Poster view only in videos, as long as this did not influence on series episodes view as this is the only place where I need landscape gfx (thumbnails from episode). Will show results when I'm done...
