    Hi.
Thinking about this a bit more... It definitely is enough if the arrows appear on the right in the fanart area. They could be reachable when leaving grid to the left too, no problem. It's a common navigate behaviour if you leave on the left to come in in the right again. So not hard to get used to it, I'm sure...
And this way we could use it on Listview exactly the same way. Only on Cover(Flow) View this needs to be below the covers, I'm pretty sure...

This will make navigation much more easy and fast. Even while navigating with mouse this will be really helpful.

Yes, agree to that. I'll place the buttons, but for the code a Dev needs to take a look. Since the list- or gridview will be without focus, they are only scrollable with some "magic" :)

Surely there is a better way around navigation than to have on screen nav buttons ?

I also do not like such buttons, but currently the navigation is really not so good at some points. The buttons will be hidden in normal condition, so I can accept it partly. If you have a better option, your idea is welcome! :) Same question will rise also for Apollo One.
In the mockups in first post you can find the first letter of the selected mediaitem next to the scollbar.
My idea was basically that by using the numeric key field of remote control an alphabetic letter can be selected and the first mediaitem with this letter is selected.

    Hi.
What's the sense of a stunning beautiful skin if the beauty leads straight into ugly usability?

This here definitely is something where I'm sure it is neccessary to place functionality over design. I'm absolutely not against an easy to use solution without extra buttons, but atm I'm not aware of one. Maybe the buttons can look like an extra column of covers when they are needed, so they won't look too different to the rest. Top "navigation cover" can be split into two parts (looking as one) one for "page up" and the top most part for "to the top", the middle "navigation cover" can be for the hidden menu and the lower "navigation cover" will be split according to the top one... This way they will fit completely into the rest of the design, at least in Grid view. For other views we will find similar solutions, I'm sure...

Imho software like MP is meant for primary usage with a remote. All other navigation modes like mouse, touchscreen and so on are secondary (but also important for sure).

And the "hidden menu dilemma" is (can be) solved the "navigation button" way too.

To me the issue is with the core MP2 handling of remotes, this is what needs looking into by devs surely not adding more buttons on screen to achieve basic things like these. Is this an inherent problem of not coding the navigation by control id like in MP1 ? i'm not totally in the know of how it works in MP2.
