Additionally there seems to be a problem with BlueVision-actions.xml:

    [2015-02-13 22:30:18,513] [1550 ] [Main ] [ERROR] - Error loading workflow resource file 'C:\Users\xxx\Desktop\Mediaportal\MediaPortal-2-FEAT_BlueVision²\MediaPortal\Bin\MP2-Client\bin\x86\Release\Plugins\BlueVision\Skin\BlueVision\themes\default\workflow\BlueVision-actions.xml'
System.ArgumentException: A menu action with id '87355e05-a15b-452a-85b8-98d4fc80034e' was already registered with action name 'SlimTvClient->Schedules' (name of duplicate action is 'SlimTvClient->Schedules') -> Forgot to create a new GUID?
    bei MediaPortal.UI.Services.Workflow.WorkflowResourcesLoader.LoadWorkflowResourceFile(String filePath)

EDIT: BlueVision skin starts only, when ApolloOne Plugin also available. Once I remove ApolloOne, BlueVision skin can not be loaded. Maybe there are crossreferences or shared Guids ...

    Hello together,

I'd like to collect some feedback for an idea. I plan to implement a "home button" in the main menu. Also MP2 would start by default into the home screen.

Content of the home screen would be:
    • Latest media (Movie, Series, Audio, Image)
    • News ticker
    • Weather
    • For future optional: Email messages
Vote with agree or disagree, but please feel also free to add comments or further ideas :)
To offer a better idea how it could look like, I attach a mock-up.

    Home screen sounds cool.

Some general question/Idea (may be a bit out of topic here).
I think in BV² and also AO Skin I need a lot of button pressing on the remote control to select the wanted module/screen.
1st I need to choose the group in top menu (horizontal)
    2nd I need to select/activate it.
3rd I need to go down and select the actual menu item
    4th I need to select/activate it.

If I compare that to the Windows MCE main menu:
    1st select group by up/down
2nd select actual menu item (if not the default item) by left/right
    2.5th select/activate item

Did you think of this kind of navigation? Or is this something any other skin offers?

    Hi.
The MP2 navigation needs an overhaulin in general... It is normal that the app "remembers" where you was last time when you were in a given module. MP2 don't do this and it even did not focus any of the items in the list when you enter the screen with the list. It is nasty when you digged deep into the filesystem structure playing some audio files and you need to check for anything else (e.g some messages or a scheduled recording) and you want to come back to where you was before. Then you need to navigate the whole way from MP2- Server Root up to the recently played item again. This needs to be improved a lot imho as this don't feels "right"... Similar is on playing Series episodes. As soon as you leave the series section you need to start all over again. I prefer this the MP1 way... When you come back you will be automatically navigated to the last selected item or, if you've played this item recently, to the following unseen item...

    Edit:
But I'm pretty sure this has to be done in the program, not in a skin...

I was really thinking about that. Since Features as TV and metadata are not ready in MP2 I use MC8.1 with MediaBrowser plugin as main software on my HTPC. I also like the easy and quick navigation system of MC.
The point is, that it won't fit to the concept idea of BlueVision.
If there are people who would like to create a skin with a MC like control, I'd directly support! But it should be another skin. :)

A first step could be to skip step 2 and change the available items below when you move in the top menu. And to go further you could open a default item on click in the top menu ... This way you would have kind of a MCE like navigation. But I guess that at least the first step is not possible at the moment, right?

Yes, it is possible. There are a few things about the main menu to do, I will think also about it.

EDIT: Sorry, I wrote in German without realizing  "LatestMedia" is not working and I asked about it
