    Re: Bluray Handler 0.9.5 (BETA)

eagle: if bluray playback is fully supported (like DVDs are now) then this plugin has no purpose :)

polarie: probably an issue with the mpec source splitter (and/or connected filters) then :/

corvy: why no DXVA? it uses the same 264 decoder as the one you selected in the Video Codec configuration in mediaportal.

and in general this plugin only does the following things:

... forces a specific splitter in the graph
... allows you to select a playlist
... allows you to jump between chapters
... fixes some issues with native subtitle / audio selection

it does this by overriding the native player (VMR9/7).
Video quality/performance of playback is really out of scope and depends on your personal configuration and hardware :)

    Re: Bluray Handler 0.9.5 (BETA)

it's kinda weird to say but i hope this plugin will become obsolete soon ;)

What do you mean? Should I force my attempts to make it running or should I wait a bit for a better solution?

I would say that make your system work with this current plugin, or your wait will be really long. There is currently no "project" going on with the directshow based Blu-ray navigator. If someone is interested in writing such plugin please contact me. There is already a 3rd party open source library available that does the grunt work (I have no clue how nicely it works).

...combining that new open source file splitter and the Blu-ray library would be nice (and not an impossible task to do) :)

i am not sure if i understand the splitters job right - i thought the splitter
just splitts out the Video and the audio and bring it
in a viewable stream for MePo and the internal player with the chosen codec ...

does the splitter also read out the bookmark of the chapters?

    Hi Polarie,

Like you said, the splitter is to split out video, audio and sub.
But this splitter manage Playlist, when you open the mpls file with this splitter, the splitter read it and construct the virtual timeline composed of multiple m2ts.

BDHandler for bookmark side read it and send to MePo :)

If you associate mpls for MPC MPEG Splitter, and open you good playlist you can play it in MP or Graphstudio.
BDHandler like said Armandp manage and disply the choice of playlist and parse Chapter :)

    Seb.

hmmm for me as a hardware-builter the software stuff is difficult :)

i just give powerDVD 10 markII a try - and it played it smooth and with no stop ...

so - i am more confused and not sure where the problem is :(

    de-installed all SAF codecs ...
    installed only PowerDVD10
    no changes :( ...

    so i need another splitter?
where do i get one? and which will help to play the palylists?
    (or isn't it that easy?)

    EDIT:

"Horton Hears a Hu" again - played a bit around ...

if i use the "skip" funktion - i can jump for example to "5 minutes" and the movie goes on ...

    EDIT II:

Look "Kung-Fu Panda" @ the moment

    runs perfekt - chapter-jump /skips ... plays mooth and perfect ...

For splitter, right now only this splitter manage it.
It seems that when i made some test with or without BDHandler movie stop itself after a seek, maybe it related to audio decoder. Try to setup it differently ? Or maybe try to change Deflaut Directsound etc. and see if it's better :)

thx for your help sebastiii - but öhm change what exact?

    MPEG / AC3 Audiodecoder
    AAC audio decoder
    Audio Renderer

    these three i can change...
which of these maybe depends on the "problem"? :)

    Re: Bluray Handler 0.9.5 (BETA)

    Yes,

Here i have FFDshow Audio for all and Default Directsound Device.
Try to add FFDshow in Post-Processing in video config option.

Maybe after play with output setting section of FFDshow Audio (like connect to PCM first)
Also set in FFDshow Audio in DirectShow Control : i set the last one before none option.

Otherwise, it would be great if you can try with graphstudio and see if the same happen.

PS : Maybe we should talk on another thread if it's related to codec issue :)
