Re: AW: Re: Bluray Handler 0.9.2 (BETA)

I get an error saying "unable to play index.bdmv"..
Any ideas why ? Installed SAF 5, and just tried to add another version of mpegsplitter, without any luck.

I asume you are meaning "mpegsplitter.ax", or?
And yes I have registred mpegsplitter.ax.

I have changed the MPEG-2 Video Rendere in Video Codecs / TV-Codecs and DVD-Discs. to use "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)".

I'm also having some challenges with BluRay Handler. It used to work fine for me a couple of months ago, I have now rebuilt my HTPC and have the following scenario:

    1. With BDHandler 0.9.7.27 or 0.9.7.29 installed but disabled my blurays play fine (albeit with no choice of what to play).
    2. With BDHandler 0.9.7.27 or 0.9.7.29 installed and enabled I can successfully select what to play, I then receive sound but no video.

Could someone post what video/audio codecs & renderer settings they use within Media Portal.

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    MediaPortal v 1.1.2
    SAF v5.00 beta 1
    BD Handler 0.9.7.27 / 29

    thanks

    nope i mean MPADECFILTER.AX

its the recommended audio decoder for BD HANDLER

it shows up as MPC - MPA audio decoder inside MP

It is important to NOT select ffdshow as audio-decoder under /video codecs!

    I have:

    mpeg2: PDVD10
    H264: PDVD10
    All Audio: MPC MPA

This works for BDHandler, although i have problems with little stuttering. Live TV is no problem, Moving pictures was no problem with ffdshow but with MPC-MPA Codec the dshowfilter.dll gets out of rythm all the time so that there also is the suttering, thats annoying!
Dont forget to register mpegsplitter.ax and mpadecfilter.ax in the Mediaportal directory... GL

edit: I tried AC3 Filter as audio codec and IT WORKS, stuttering is gone! :-]

Can you tell why it is bad to use ffdshow as audio decoder?
Will AC3 filter give HD sound?

ffdshow works flawlessly here... No stuttering, even with vc-1, tv, bd, DTS HD, DD HD, etc..
Framerate are good and audio is in sync.

    My setup:
ATI Radeon 5450 -> HDMI -> Denon AVR -> HDMI -> Philips TV

I have following settings for ffdshow audio.
    Audio decoder config:
    Passthrough:
    Dolby Digital (AC3)
    Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3)
    Dolby True HD
    DTS
    DTS HD

    Compatbility:
    Connect as PCM first
    Try all formats

Output for uncompressed or decoed streams:
    16 bit integer
    AC3 (S/PDIF encode mode
Encode 5.1 streams only @ 640 (448 for old receivers)

    Mediaportal - Codecs and renderers
MPEG-2 video decoder: FFFShow Video Decoder
H.264 video decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
(could use ffdshow here too, but i get a slightly better performance with ms codec, framerate are more or less identical)
MPEG/AC3 audio decoder: FFDShow Audio Decoer
    Audio Renderer: Default Directshow Device

Codec packs like SAF are in general really bad to use, you have no controll what so ever.

I'm not recommending anything, but i have found and tested saf500svn20110214_msvc2010.exe as the first (and only) codec pack from hoborg that has been working. Usually these codec packs are messing up my system or crashing mediaportal.

Usually you can install ffdshow, mpegsplitter, mpadecfiler, bd handler(27), and everything more or less will work.. (Add matroskasplitter for x264)

    File versions:
    Matroskasplitter: 1.5.1.2931
    mpegsplitter: 1.5.1.2931
    mpadecfilter: 1.5.1.2931

Right - so after reading this whole thread and trying out a million different variations on codecs and such.. I cant find a fix for the audio + black screen issue.

So is there a simple fix, or is it something that needs an update to BRHandler?
