This is an odd problem but it caused me a few headaches until I found out how/why it happened.

I have recorded something on the DVB-T Freeview (using the TV server not ForTheRecord which doesn't know about what cards are/can do) card, it is recording.

Watching live TV (yes - sorry but true) on the first DVB-S card on Sky. TV freezes (mentioned in another forum report and logs posted).

OK, not critical what it is recording so reboot the PC.

...Now when I go to look at the TV I was watching before it comes up saying something like card locked, channel scrambled etc.

For information, spent ages rescanning channels etc. before I realised what it REALLY means is -

The recording has nicked the card that I was using to watch TV - even although the channel is available on the DVB-T card!

Now just like ForThe Record doesn't know I don't know how to stop TVServer from taking any card it wants. Not only that but I couldn't work out how to stop the recording either!

It is not even close to being a show stopper - the daily freezes are FAR more important, but it might be significant in some other scenario too.

So far my [long suffering] spouse has put up with the niggles that moving from TiVo to MediaPortal has thrown up but I must admit we sometimes use VLC since that has NEVER frozen - either on the same PC or another one (which MediaPortal playback HAS done).
