Hi all,

I just upgraded my MP to 1.1 with the SVN from 20-10-2009. THere is a new core.dll in there (See info thread here.)

WHen I mound the first ISO in movingpictures, all is ok.
WHen I start the next iso (after stopping the first ofcourse) I sometimes see a black screen (and non responsive MP) and sometimes the message "unable to play Video......IFO", or sometimes nothing is started.

I tried the same thing with starting iso;s from within MyVideos and there is no problem at all. But through moving pictures there is.
I will post a log tomorrow (no time now  ). I think it is timing related.

Update:
To summ things up. There is a dvd mounting bug in moving pictures 0.75. It is solved in 0.8(.0.924)

I had time to create the logs

What I did / the setup.
1st trial
- disabled all plugins
- set blue3wide as skin
- using Virtual clonde drive 5.4.3.5
- using the standard Video (not moving pictures)
- I ran the log collector and started MP.
- started about 5 DVD images after eachother >>> NO problems :)

2nd trial
- went to configuration
- enabled movingpictures only
- Run log collector and started MP
- Started about 5 DVD images with using movingpictures >>> Problems :(

The problem I saw with this trial was that after the first image, the dvd wasnt started propperly. An image flashed, and then back to the menu again.

Logs of both attemps are here.

I hope someone can help with this..

I seem to be having the same black screen problem, Im using KMplayer as an external player because it gives me more control over the video on my computer than the media portal default. The movies load fine but when I close KMplayer I just get a black screen and am unable to get media portal to do anything.

Only a problem in moving pictures, works fine in default video and Mytvseries. Mediaportal does not actually stop responding as task manager does not report it as being non responsive and closes it instantly, but I cant do anything other than task manager and kill process.

Im using an older 1.1 release though not sure which.

From what I see in the graphs in my own log, I think I can make an improvement to the settings. In configuration > video > player I have set the audio renderer as ASUS Xonar DX. But I think the default direct sound device is the one to choose. This will probably remove the extra ffdshow audio decorder + asus xonar renderer from the graph.
But I think this will not get rid of the problem I am seeing.

@ Johnyd,
I indeed sometimes have the same thing. But I am not using an external player. Thats the only difference.
A non responsive MP. Stop(B), Back(ESC) dont work anymore. But this is only sometimes.

Mine is every time, it doesnt worry me too much though as its quicker to just go to the folder when Im just running it on my normal computer not a actual HTPC. I basically just use MP when I want to show off or cant decide what to watch.

This will sound a bit harsh but i tested this with our latest plugin revision (soon to be 0.8) and it does not show this issue (the player logic has had a big overhaul).
We will probably not release a fix before we release 0.8 so that means you'll have to wait for that one.

    Hi armandp,

Thank you very much for your reply. Your reply doesnt sound harsh to me, dont worry.
I dont mind to wait at all. As long as problem is known, understood and clear what the cause is. (although your not saying that exactly)

I am willing to try the latest revision in order to test this. Maybe I can find out how this is done, and I will report later on if the problem is gone with the latest build. (If I can figure out how to compile this stuff) Otherwise I will just wait untill the big event itself.... the release of 0.8 :D

    Thanks again for your reply.

Well i have not exactly looked into the root of the problem because i couldn't reproduce the issue on the updated code base. However when the problem does manifest itself again for whatever reason (maybe my quick test wasn't as thorough) it will be addressed asap ofcourse ;)

    Hi armandp,

I managed to compile myself the current version of moving pictures this morning. I created moving pictures build 0.8.0.874.

The problem I am seeing is still there.
So I guess the problem is bigger than I hoped.
