Graham - not sure as I'm at work - have a play, and i'll try and look tonight. The only reason I know is because an HD .TS file I opened up had two audio tracks listed in the config file.

As for Comskip and Subtitles- I have no idea yet.

The first stage of this plugin will be to create a config file that replicates loading the same files(s) into DVDFlick and saving the project - the idea being that I can pass this through to Flick in the background. There are sections in the config file for subtitles, so they should be feasible to handle, but it's however DVDFlick and it's associated external apps such as FFMpeg deal with them... my plugin isn't going to handle the TS Files and burn them direclty itself (although I admit it would be a much nicer way of doing it, it's a bit beyond my skills!)

This is an edited ts file from another ts file that plays with audio on MP and there is only a single file i.e. without separate subtitle files. Is there some sort of conversion that I have to do on the ts file before converting to DVD using DVDFlick??

The latest build of convertxtodvd works very well. Also its a one-step process. Not free like dvdflick though (costs US$59 unless you can obtain a copy though other means.).

Will watch this thread with interest though. Especially the comskip data aspect.

    Hi Etheesdad,

Yeah, I thought you might find this thread interesting. The Plugin that JMBillings is developing will be good - burning off recordings to DVD would be awesome!! .... I have some awesome fishing vid's one of my mates would love on DVD in HD :p Did you have any luck with free software to clean things up for DVDFlick??

    Cheers

    Hi Graham

Well I have a working copy of convertx on my machine so all the faffing around getting dvdflick to work got put in the 'too hard' basket for now. I did have a look at the free tools from the other thread but a two-step process is a bit too messy for my liking. (Owlsroot's one-step solution involved using commercial software).

Good luck with the fishing vids :)

    Hi All,

Would love to easily burn a DVD from a MP "ts" recording using free software, especially after editing out the Advertisements - happy to use video editor within MP at this stage!!

JMBillings - just wondering how things are progressing with your plugin? I'm happy to just do it manually, but I'm having no luck with any software that will reproduce a quality HD recording with sound in VOB format. By the way, it's from a 1080i broadcast. Also, it's all on one single ts file i.e. no separate audio file.

Another question, has anybody tried recording in MPEG format? I just get an empty file? My thinking was that it might be easier to convert from this format in VOB.

    Any help appreciated.

    Regards

    Graham

MPEG recording has been removed for MP V1.0.1 due to some problems.

    Hi,

Thanks for the note - why is that? Do you know if additional formats will be available for the next release? It's difficult to get anything off the Media Centre from ts format to anything else.

    Cheers

You can see the reason in the mantis task.
    No other formats planned afaik.

I use VideoRedo and MCEBuddy to cut and convert. Outside MP of course.
