Caching images (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure if this is even possible, or if it's going to be specific to the skin engine, but is it possible to cache ALL the background images just as MP starts?
The reason I ask is that there is a performance hit when the images fade from one to the next - if you change menu items at that moment you'll see what I mean.
If the images were cached, it should be possible to simply fade the image in for the next category (i.e. movies, then fade in to TVseries etc...)

I believe the change you are after is for the Multi-Image control not to load images in the main UI thread...thats why it locks up when navigating. What would be ideal is to load them in the background like in MovingPictures & TVSeries.

Yup - it does seem to work for those two - could it be implemented here though?

Im sure it can be, its something to be changed in the MediaPortal code base.
