DVB-S + Analogue dualtuner PCI-e

Hi guys sorry if its been covered.... have had a look but cant find what Im after..

Wondering if any of you could recommend a dual DVB-S/Analogue tuner that will fit in a PCI or PCIeX1 slot?

Have just moved house, finally have both dish and UHF aerials... Problem is Im out of PCI slots on my MB, only have two and need one of them for a sound card. Ive got the skystar2 which is a great card, and the hauppuage PVR-150 which I also cannot fault but cant use em both!

Also have to repair the f-plug on the satellite lead as someone has hammered it into the carpet by the skirting board for some reason... Maybe the carpet layers. Anyway, its stuffed.

Cheers,
Matt

OK got a HVR2200 works a charm, needed to update to last SVN to get analog side working....

for anyone using satellite channels for the guide of freeviewHD but still wanting to watch satellite channels but cant scan them in, edit the channels, go to the dvb-s tab, change the "servaceID" to 0, go and scan the satellite for channels, you will then see to of each channel, then go and change the serviceID back to what it was, and you should then be able to have ur cake and eat it too :p

this way i can have hd channels with guide on my mediacenter pc and then sd sat channels on my laptop that cant handle hd :)

Gee Handya - I have read your post three times to try and understand what your are doing and why. Let me know if I have this correct.

You want to create effectively two (say) DVB-S TV ONE entries so that one can be setup to be paired with DVB-T TV ONE for provision of EPG (i.e. set to EPG Only) and the other for actually watching from clients so that you do not have to be worried about card priority - is that about it?

So after following your approach, you end up with say two TV ONE entries, but one set to EPG ONLY (in the Mapping section) and the other available for selection by clients. Is that what your method provides? If so, then its a good solution.

    Cheers Mike

    yes thats exactly right,
the problem I found is that you could scan the same channel in two times or more because it would "update" the old channel. this way any client that wants SD can easily get it with out having to worry about card priority, like you say. hopefully it helps someone :)

freeviewhd tv3 now has the option to use ac3 audio rather than aac!

Does anyone else get a lockup when changing from using an AC3 stream back to AAC? If I leave everything on AAC its fine but if I watch TV3 on AC3 then switch to any other channel or switch TV3 back to AAC I get a lockup.
I'm using FFDShow for my audio decoder as Cyberlink crashes MP instantly when I use a AC3 stream.

wow, i popped in to see if people were talking about dvb-t yet, given it's impending unveiling - i didn't expect as much discussion as their has been! i won't leave it so long between visits from now on i guess.

Out of interest did anyone find any good links for satellite pics that can be used in My Weather?

i found the image on this page...

NOAA Satellite Image Archive of New Zealand by Landcare Research

which is the best nz one i've seen so far, but i can't find a way to isolate it for mp in a way that it would always display the latest image (it updates twice a day). anyone have any ideas?
Hi Coina, I ended up here (page 96 of the thread!) from a link in one of RadScorpion’s blogs and noticed your reference to NOAA Satellite Image Archive of New Zealand by Landcare Research. It so happens that I manage that facility and site, so if you need help accessing images I can help. If you want a direct link to the most recent image (jpg) alone, then I may need to modify a script on the server side.

Can someone help me with recording multiple muxes on the HVR-2200 please? I used to have a Nova T-500 and it worked fine, i didn't even have to change anything in MP to get it working.

Last night i had TV ONE and TV Two recording and i was wanting to watch TV3. As i understood it, because i have two DVB-T tuners i can watch/record any channels on any two muxes at once. But when the channels started recording TV3 stopped working because both tuners were being used to record the channels.

Is there a setting in TV server somewhere that i need to change to allow multiple channel recording on each mux?

    Hi,

Gosh last time I was here, this post was like 3 pages long... been awhile lol

    Anyways..

I am trying to get Hardware acceleration to work in mediaportal. I have got a Dell XPS M1330, 2.5GHz Dual, 4GB Ram, 250GB HDD running Vista Business SP1. Also AVerMedia Hybrid, and a GeForce 8400M GS (latest drivers according to Windows Update). Also using the PowerDVD Codec (Just trial version, want to get it to work before $$). Using MediaPortal RC1 SVN 19311 with the same on TV Server

I have been using the CoreAVC codec, but does not support Hardware Acceleration so CPU has been 80% ish watching 1,2,3

First is this card fully capable of Hardware Acceleration for all the channels (esp 1,2,3) Because at this stage, I am a able to watch all but the "true" HD channels (1,2,3 and Freeview | HD). At this stage the audio on these channels is fine, but the video is not even close to being in sinc and is very slow (would put is at about 10FPS sort of stuff).

This happens when I have set it to EVR in MediaPortal.

When I set the settings to VRM9 I can't see the image at all (with new drivers, old drivers work fine) but CPU usage is about 25% for C4 etc, and 60% for TV3.

So am I going to have to go back to the old drivers and use VRM9, or is there some way to get EVR working for TV1,2,3 which would be great.

    Thanks for all the help!,
    Andysh
