Greetings all.

I built a media pc up last year from spare parts and toyed with a pirated copy of MCE2005. It was nice but I didn't want to go online with it...

I toyed around with other PVR's then I came across this site and MP.

Can anyone point me to page that provides NZ's current free to air line up.

I'm down here in North Canterbury where analogue TV reception is so so... hence I'm on the Sky decoder for free to air channels only.

Plus are there any good TV cards out there that capture satellite and work well with MP? (rather than buy an expensive freeview decoder)
And where can you get them?

A lot of people here use the SkyStar2 card which is also available from this guy on TradeMe

An example of a Mediaportal / FreeView setup
    http://mcraenz.googlepages.com/mppvr

    Question for you tho:
    * Why do you have your Analog Signal coming via the STB rather than going straight into your PVR 150?

    * Your Sky Subscriber service I presume is going in to the TechnoTrend card.

    * Why do you have the DiSEqC switch and splitter outisde? Is not a good idea to have them all closer to the Media Centre, or was it a cost thing, ie cheaper to run 2 cables a log way, then 3?

I guess mcraenz didn't really see the point in running 3 cables. RG6 isn't that cheap. But yes that might have been a better option? His box looks pretty weather proof though. :) you might be best to ask questions via his online comments section. I don't think he comes on the mp forum.

Hi there, I'm running an Avermedia AverTV DVB-S Hybrid card (A700) and I have managed to add the card fine but when I autoscan for channels on Optus D1 it doesnt pick up any. I have the right settings in the tpl file, essentially all I need is: 12456,H,22500. The AverTV software picks up all channels just but MP does not. Does anyone have any ideas on anything to try?

Hi Assault. When I scanned for the chanels I couldnt pick up all the channels unless I selected "cable" as the input method (f that makes sense). Otherwise it just picked up the ULF band.

Also 12483,H,22500 (If you want TV1 and 2). Do you know what sort of LNB you have? It's most likley a problem with the LNB LOF settings.
