If you want logs just ask, but it was more of a curiosity around connections.
    I do want log files.

Make sure you have the IPv6 protocol disabled on your NICs. It can cause random long and unexplainable delays, perhaps related to DNS or something.

Cheers buddy, I'll grab them later from the server... I've read that you shouldn't disable IPv6 from Server 2012 domains, but will have a go... All it will do is kill the network if it goes wrong :) Out of curisosity, what is it with IPv6 that can causes delays?

As I said the system is running fine in terms of recording, playback connectivity, DVB-S etc on a Server 2012 VM, I would just like to tweak it to make it as fast as I can now :) WIll snapshot the server in case I break it!

I don't know for sure. Like I said, maybe DNS; maybe something else. I'm afraid I'm not a network expert. About all I know is that "in the field" people see delays which have been fixed by disabling IPv6.

I'll try that also. I see it's not a straight forward procedure. Requires a registry change. Unchecking the checkbox in the adapter properties doesn't work.

I simply meant unchecking the checkbox. AFAIK that has been enough for other people that have experienced delays due to IPv6. I would not go messing with the registry until I've examined client and server logs and confirmed it is worth investigating that option.

The following page says IPv6 can cause problems with legacy equipment and DNS in certain environments, but unchecking the box doesn't disable it.

Yep, I'm aware of that. Just saying that regardless of whatever unchecking that checkbox does or does not do, my recollection is that what it does do has been enough to fix problems other people have experienced with MP + IPv6. :)

For Win7 and maybe Vista, Microsoft has a "Fix It" procedure which I've executed and it adds the same registry setting described above.

Well, I do hope it helps... but I think it would be great if you could share log files too. Reason: I'd respectfully suggest that for all we know at this point the problem could have absolutely nothing to do with IPv6. In my experience changing random things on my computer can lead to problems. If we have log files we can check the tune process from end to end, see where the delays actually are, and make informed recommendations about what might improve the situation. :)

So I've just come back from doing a presentation with IPENZ, too late to play with IPv6 now so will do it tomorrow once missus has stopped recording/watching stuff. I'll try just disabling the tick box, but I have a feeling that Server 2012 and Windows 8 do not work like that it uses it even when disabled via the tick box.

re: the logomanager plugin, new zealand support is been organised, repository is ready, but can someone export their channels from tvserver for me please as im using Argus. If you have DVB-T and DVB-S Freeview and Sky already in freeview all the better, but the more people who post the more accurate it will be.

just the tv channels only is fine

Steps to test LogoManager in NZ for those who're using MP TV Server:
    1) Download and install LogoManager from MPEI (uncheck "Only stable") or from website https://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/utilities/logomanager
    2) Locate Logomanager.config file in Mediaportal config directory (usually C:\ProgramData\Team Mediaportal\MediPortal for win7) and replace it with http://mediaportal-nz-logos.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/LogoManager.config
    3) Post Mediaportal.log here (or in any thread about NZ logos) if you have missing logos after grabbing or in LogoManager main thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/logomanager-0-0-0-4-23-12-2013.119376/ if you have problems with plugin itself.
Please note that Argus is not supported yet. My tester with argus scheduler found it working with this build https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7658963/LogoManager.dll
